If he can cut down on danger plays, I think he improves dramatically

Honestly, they probably are okay with Rudolph for a game or two if needed. The issue arises if Ben misses significant time. I'm also not convinced that Rudolph can't be a capable backup in this league. My doubts are mainly his ability to be a starter. Which are the same doubts I had when we drafted him.

Echoing their statement from months ago. Stupid but they have always been diehards when it comes to developing their backup QBs.
Really should have added this to my comment:

broken-record-gif-1.gif

Because nothing changes and honestly outside of the ONE QB they developed who else?
And even with Ben he was a top talent coming out of college.

Yeah they didn't develop Ben as much as Ben was just rare talent.

He better grow a playoff beard. We know he's capable of some epic beard goals now.
He looked Keisel-Rific.

Though no one can really compare to Brett's Mustache lines.

I'm not real sure where the Jets are going in 2020, but they can do worse at back up QB.

I was watching the 2015 game @ SD Chargers when Vick brought them back to win on a Bell wildcat play in the last seconds.

Vick wasn't much in PIT, but having that guy that's been thru some things is more comforting than what we have now.

Yea its going to be a source of discomfort all season not having a reliable option behind Ben. Every hit Ben takes will pucker me right up.

I got some flak for mentioning Flacco's name in regards to a FA I'd be interested in. But I still stand by it. My expectations for a vet backup were & still are lower than most in here. Obviously I would have been ecstatic for Jameis to be in PIT, but after he got signed I was looking for "best fits" with emphasis on the "game manager" types. Someone that wouldn't be depended on to put the team on their back. Just move the chains & keep the defense fresh.
