I loved it, but it was flawed. It would have been perfect with just:

1. A bit better editing. The Snyder flashbacks/jumps in time make it needlessly confusing.
2. Removing some ridiculous scenes meant to make it dark and gritty, like Supes allowing his dad to die. I have nothing against a dark movie, but don't make the manipulation THAT obvious.
3. I understand most of the destruction at the end, and it made the cryptonians feel like the HUGE menace they were (unlike, say, the ridiculous Chitauri and their chariots), but they should have shown Supes being more concerned about the destruction and struggling to save more lives, when in the movie he actually contributed to the destruction.

Now BvS was an unsalvageable mess.

#3 is related to yoru bottom post.

#2 I was ok with cause Pa Kent has died before. But I never liked killing him off. I love the Superman Animated world where both parents are alive.

How many heart attacks does Pa Kent need?

I don't get the backlash.

This was an Avengers level movie.

It's not MoS.

But not many comic book movies were better.

If you say WW, imagine if Gadot wasn't hot.....it wouldn't be better than JL then. Be real.

I know you're a big DC fan, but it's not on the level of Avengers 1, let alone Infinity War. I agree that it is better and more enjoyable than Age of Ultron.

Problems with Justice League:

1. It feels like a movie made by a board of directors instead of a movie made by people with an artistic vision. Zach Snyder made some major mistakes (he's just not good at storytelling), but at least he had a vision and I loved the idea of a darker/more serious universe to counteract Marvel's lightheartedness. There's nothing wrong with a dark themed superhero movie (Logan and TDK are two of the best superhero movies ever), but the most important factor is the quality. To me, it felt like they tried to answer all of the criticism received by the previous movies, and it felt forced.

Examples: BvS and MoS were "too dark", so this one had even Batman with comedic lines and lame jokes. I didn't like that. They removed all of Cyborg's backstory just because of its darkness.

MoS has been (unfairly IMO) criticized for the widespread destruction of Metropolis, so this one had every battle in the middle of nowhere. MoS has been criticized (not without reason) because Superman actually contributed to the widespread destruction, so in this one he even leaves the rest of the JL in the middle of the battle just to save a few humans (Barry should have saved all of them).

People have claimed that the other movies were too long, so this one was mandated to be shorter than 120min. That's really dumb, because only a bad movie feels "too long", and IMO this one felt too short and we could have used a few more minutes to better introduce/develop Aquaman, the Flash and Cyborg.

2. The Villain. For a JL movie, you need a strong/charismatic villain, someone they need to team up in order to beat. Steppenwolf had the charisma of a rock and frankly, wasn't more powerful than Wonder Woman. Superman alone would have destroyed him. If we compare against Avengers movies, Steppenwolf might be comparable with Ultron, but both Loki and Thanos are WAY better villains.

Frankly, considering the studio interference and the change of director, this movie could have been far worse. The fact that they ended up with an enjoyable movie is a win.

It reminded me a lot of Avengers 1.

I admit to not having seen Infinity War yet.

The thing about destroying the city......i mean....Superman has done that in many mediums, including the cartoons. Why this is an issue now I'm not really sure.

And WW coudln't handle Step, idk why people are saying that. She couldnt even really slow him down when Cyborg was trying to program into the mother box to separate them.

Once she unleashed all of her power, WW destroyed Ares, a god, in her own movie. She's supposed to be equal, or at least close to Superman in power, and Superman was way too overpowered for Steppenwolf. She never showed that kind of power in the JL movie.

Heck, in the end Steppenwolf was overpowered by a few parademons, so WW alone should be able to beat him.

Except she couldn't.

Her and AM combined struggled with him.

She also struggled against Ares before destroying him. We are shown what the director/writers wants us to see, and they are always very inconsistent in the power level shown. Heck, Batman beat Superman in this universe, ffs.

Whoa, huge news!

Variety: The Snyder Cut will be released on HBO Max in 2021!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, it will be 4 hours long!

Snyder's very inconsistent, but this just can't be worse than the lame theatrical version.

Fun to see my previous posts. I was pleasantly surprised by the theatrical version when it was released, but I have grown to dislike it. Now I even like BvS better than TJL.

I thought it was a decent action film but Wonder Woman was much better.

Basically this will be grossly different because Synder had what he estimates as almost 4 hours of footage before he had to pull off the project and Weldon took over. Supposedly Synder has never viewed the final cut that was released in theaters. Personally I think Synder is very hit or miss and misses more than he hits but if they want to redo this thing with more character development and turn it into six 45 minute episodes (which is my bet what happens) I'm down for it.

I think we all have to go into thinking this is an alternate DC universe type deal and not have any hang-ups. I can see them doing interviews with the cast and behind the scenes, explanations afterwards plus add a piece on the history of the "Synder Cut" and they could easily stretch his out to 7 or 8 hours of content.

Not a bad option for HBOMax especially since the majority of the work on this project can be done during quarantine and work is drying up since no one is shooting. It's a win-win for everyone no matter how it turns out.

I am such a DC fan I really wish they could figure this shit out. I felt the Justice League movie was rushed to compete with Marvel they should have already had solo films for all those characters. I guess that's why Snyders film is 4 hours it really introduces each character before taking off.

JL >>> Avengers. Biggest problem DC has Batman vs Superman because it was the best movie that stayed true to the comics that we have seen and didn’t sell out like the MCU has.

Because it’s a trash story.

It never made sense. Even the source material.

They needed a man of steel level movie for each character in JL.

plus dc tells amazing animated stories that the dcu was never going to touch
