The was a quote by Snead saying they have invested a lot into the OL the past 2-3 years, and that they like what they have as they continue to develop
I feel like when Whitworth continues his regression and some of these other guys possibly don't perform up to expectations, there's going to be a lot of questions coming his and McVay's way.

And according to one poster on here, the UDFAs would be packed with O-lineman. In the first group of 20, there is ONE. Cabral from right here in Phoenix at ASU. This year, there is a clear prejudice/ignorance towards O-lineman with these Rams and I wonder who is doing this and why.
That was more of a 'now watch them load up on OL', rather than an actual prediction.

Anyway Retro, this Cabral kid is ranked at Center just behind Baidesz, a guy you wanted and who probably went too high. Cush was the best Center we had a chance at, and we likely would have needed to draft down or over draft once again just to get him. Kid could be overrated too IMO being a Junior on the Championship LSU squad, a lot of talent around him, not a guaranteed starter. Also IMO Baidesz was not quite the gem we need at Center anyway, and I personally like Cabril more, especially since we landed him as an UDFA.

Similar story for Guards Retro. I guess we could have got Simpson or Phillips, but I don't think Simpson is your kind of guy RR. He's sort of a knuckle head as he led the FBS in holding and false starts (JK, just exaggerating a bit, however he was a huge offender of pre-snap penalties and holding, no thanks!) I wouldn't have been mad if the Rams spent a 3rd round pick on Phillips though, just sort of slow. I think Anchrum isn't too far behind him too, and all the other Guards, fell off a cliff after the top two, save Lewis. Lewis will be good with the Hags, because he is just a road grader in a uniform, can't pass block too well though, so I'm not sure he fits McVay's offense.

There was a run on Tackles before we ever made a pick, 7 were gone, so to get a Tackle we either had to move up with no draft capital or likely over draft once again. Besides, didn't Whitworth just sign that 3 year deal? And Havenstein has been solid on the right side too.

Anyway, I am glad we didn't reach on OL picks once again like we have the past two years....

Evans, started 8 games last year as a rookie, way ahead of schedule not a bad spot late in the 3rd, but your boy Allen (sarcasm font) was a reach 2 years ago over drafting him in the 4th, however he got a lot of playing time behind Sullivan, and was stretched to the Starter role last year. Dude is never gonna be more than a fair backup and drafting him with a fourth round pick was a reach. Blythe will start at Center, and he's a stretch at least we didn't waste draft capital on him... Maybe this kid Cabril will be our guy...

Just my :2cents:....

So what happened to him SJ?

Dude is a stud, just read he was the No. 1 CB in the country coming out of HS.

Team was just bad man. Coach wasn’t good at all but Levonta has some game. Be a good slot guy and needs to get better at tackling. You can be sure that Ramsey will be all up in his and Cam’s grill.

I hope we don't use Perkins at QB. The guy is very indecisive (don't know if he didn't fully trust the UVA WR's or himself to get them the ball) and by the time he makes the decision, the defenders are already up on him. Also, he tends to have problems holding onto the ball on occasion. He'd be better used as a RB or WR or maybe DB. If he can get into the open field, the guy has a lot of speed and can make a lot of guys miss.

Bryce is certainly raw as a passer but he led his team to a division title and as an athlete I’m intrigued especially coming to a place where he has time to develop into a WR or QB. Could be another sleeping giant that we drafted.

6’2-6’3 215 runs a 4.5 - 40 and sub 7 - 3 cone?

I’d say the Rams got some value late in this draft for sure. Brandon Polk former Penn St 4 star recruit helped JMU to the FCS championship this past year and put up 1000 yards receiving. 5’9 171 ran a 4.28 - 40

sounds like a PR/KR type guy for now.

That doesn't mean you turn a blind eye and if you can and an opportunity presents itself to include them in BPA. Why is now the O-lineman excluded? We have a great TE corp but that didn't stop Snead from wasting a perfect opportunity in the fourth to take a decent Center by selecting an iffy TE. Give me a flipping break!

I hear ya Vita but this started with missing on Josh Jones who would have been a nice addition for Whitworth training because even last year Whitworth was the most "helped" tackle in the league according to PFF who by the way is owned by Chris Collinsworth. LOL!

Say we didn't want Jones who we brought in for a f2f and Cushenberry was the guy. We had three rounds to get him and did nothing but select Jefferson too early which then set in motion us not really being able to get either Cushenberry and probably not Jones either. Although Jones was def a pick we could have had if we did things better but hindsight is always 20/15.

But if either Cabral or the big load from Clemson supplants Blythe, the point will then be moot!

Burgess reminds me a lot of Mark Barron when he first signed with us. A little bit of Joyner in his coverage style, but when he lowers the boom, he looks a lot like Barron.

He was a guy that made as many dumb decisions with the ball as smart ones though. Granted, a lot of the time we had no line help or running back help but even when he did, he had that “stare down the main receiver” mentality and wouldn’t look at his other options when they’d be wide open. Kid is definitely tough though. He took a lot of hits and got right back up from them.

Jameis Winston is signing with the Saints. They have their next QB when Brees retires.

The more I research these guys, I am arriving at the conclusion that this list was well thought out which is surprising. There are quite a few guys on this list that can make this team and one or two may see some significant playing time all on the cheap!

They were one of the teams that I was surprised to see not bother with drafting a quarterback. The Pats being one of the others. Thought for sure that the Saints would’ve taken a flyer on day two on Eason or Fromm but I guess we see why they didn’t now. As for the Pats, I’m guessing Bellicheat’s dog was making a lot of the picks? :noidea:

New Orleans is a good fit for him. He belongs there and is from Alabama. We will see how much he learns from sitting 1 year
