Waiting for answer on counter offer on trade negotiations. As soon as that comes in, I'm sure someone will make the current pick.

For sure. There have been studies done that only about 3 QB's have won taking up more than like 11 or 12% of their team's cap. So even the great ones struggle without a team. QB's can get you to the playoffs. A good surrounding cast is how you win. Heck can even look at the Eagles when they won theirs. Carson Wentz got them into the playoffs with having an MVP season. It was the rest of the roster once they got there with Foles at the helm that won it. Foles had a good Super Bowl of course but the other playoff games the defense carried that team. Only gave up 17 points over the first two games.

When you have that franchise QB making franchise QB money...you've got to get good performances from some guys on rookie contracts to be a playoff caliber team.

In this case...that rookie with the good performances happened to be the QB, but the KC DEF kicked into another gear as the season went along.

I couple things that surprised me:

Chinn nice value pick. Could see him dropping only on need specifically but I could also seeing him early 2nd.

Gay - picked way earlier than I expected. I expect him to go mid to late 3rd. 4.46-Amazing. Risky pick in the 2nd imo
Gay is rising up the draft boards recently. Could be the 4th ILB taken (after Simmons, Queen and Murray).

I can't tell if you're talking about the player or addressing Shane by his lifestyle...

Yeah probably bc of that 4.46. Athletic LB but I don't see him close to NFL ready like the other guys you mentioned. He played OLB at Miss St but I love his versatility, I think he could be a 4-3 or 3-4 guy

There is some buzz about him...I was listening to a local draft guru being interviewed on sports talk and they asked him for rising players that could go higher than we expect and the MS St LB was a name he mentioned...4.46 at LB gets people's attention.

His big suspension for cheating in college gets the attention of teams as well. Part of me thinks because teams have not been able to meet with these players face to face like usual that some of the red flag injury and off field guys will fall further than some think.
