I believe him that he talked to McCarthy and Thompson about his contract. I believe him that he told him he wanted to stay. I don't believe him that he was fully willing to do "whatever we need to do to get it done". It was "whatever we need to do to get it done within my financial requirements." And THAT is why he was wearing purple the following year.

Spriggs was on IR all year. Hard to believe they didn't release him with an injury settlement. Wasted 2nd round pick. Even traded up to get him. Vic's favorite scout had the best take on the guy: looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
