if im paying 16 mil a year i expect double digit sacks.....at least.
What would you expect from your blocker in front of him if he was on the opposition? Would you be ok with his average two/per sacks on your QB?

I'd pay Trent 16 but not 20. His agent must be on drugs if he thinks Trent was ever going to get 20 mil. What would you expect from your blocker in front of him if he was on the opposition? Would you be ok with his average two/per sacks on your QB?
TW witnessed Cousins landing a 3 year guaranteed contract. I'm thinking its something similar (not money wise) that he would likely command after listening to his agent. I do not think its something he will accomplish.I'd pay Trent 16 but not 20. His agent must be on drugs if he thinks Trent was ever going to get 20 mil.
There MIGHT be 10-15 players per draft that become starter level players right away. Of those 10-15 players, perhaps a 3rd will be high impact...pro-bowl, all pro type of change agents. All others, those who make an NFL rosters, are role players of some degree or the other.
Why is this important? Well, because trading down offers more choices, but less opportunity to garner NFL gold. (Note that I never said where those 10-15 players are selected). Age ( and cost) is generally the main factor that determines whether or not there's a move to replace the heretofore veteran presence at a given position.
If Washington decides to trade down below #5, they may gain a starter, perhaps two, but the odds that one or both are high impact guys fades dramatically. Think about that before jumping on the trade down bandwagon.
Rivera also knows this is a poker game fellas. Don't take everything he says now as gospel. Before, he had talked about player versatility - which is what Simmons has the patent on - it's legally notarized and everything - and Rivera said player versatility is going to be the key to the Skins defense. He said players who can play multiple positions are like gold.To go along with your point...isn't the goal of every NFL team to get as many great players as possible? I would think so. That's why getting a top 3 pick is so very valuable. You don't lose a bunch of games to get a lot of very good players, you lose to get as many start/impact players as possible. Trading could be great for depth but also very risky.
At this point, Rivera seems pretty adamant Chase is the guy. Rivera is a smart guy don't let upper management overthink this. Take the elite pass rusher and game changer.

nope. he's injury prone and 32 and isn't a good qb.TW witnessed Cousins landing a 3 year guaranteed contract. I'm thinking its something similar (not money wise) that he would likely command after listening to his agent. I do not think its something he will accomplish.
Call me crazy... but I wouldn't be surprised if Miami trades up to #1 to get Tua.
