That's good that the number of news cases is dropping. Hope that keeps happening.

I bet everyone will wash their hands a lot more moving forward lol

Maybe. I also think the facemask thing might become more common like it is Japan. In Japan, during flu season or if a person has a head cold but still goes out in public, they wear masks. I don't expect it to become as widespread as it is over there but I bet you start seeing some people wear them in public. Before covid, you'd never see someone wear them in the US. Like never.

That is such a trash headline.

It implies the CDC director says that expert models were wrong. And people will spin that as experts were wrong and there was never a reason to panic. What he actually said was because people are using the guidelines given based on the initial models, the data input from new models indicates we will see fewer deaths. It is because we reacted to the first models that the new models look more promising. Statistical models are based on inputs and they evolve as more, new and/or better data comes in.

(BTW, sorry for the mini-rant. Wasn't directed at you. That kind of thing in media is a pet peeve of mine)

Our county (Monroe) is showing a leveling off of the new cases curve the past few days (but deaths aren't slowing yet).

To some degree, aren't those masks used because of the pollution?

On a related note to that, did you see how much clearer it is in India during their shut down? Blue skies and no smog.

Pleasant side effect of any economic recession

But still, better for the economy to be working and growing. For all of us. We'll get there.

I started working from home at full employment, went to 4 days, and just got reduced to 3 days/week, with the reduced days furloughed (can't use vacation time). Company is supposedly applying for one of those stimulus loans that will hopefully get us back up to full employment.

Hang in there, hopefully not too much longer.
