I don't see why people are bitching about self isolation so much.

My husband works from home now. He's got his own little office and does everything from there.

Both my kids are keeping themselves busy every single day. One of them plays videogames and is constantly on there with her friends. The other is learning a new language. If the weather is nice (which it rarely has been) we'll do shit in the garden.

I've got Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime to keep me busy on top of the 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Last weekend I had a group video chat with my girlfriends over a bottle of wine. It was a hoot.

People need to stop being such cunts, stay indoors and STFU about boredom.

I get it to an extent.

It's just not as bad in some areas as others.

@bksballer89 posts about how bad things are in New York, but where I live, nothing even remotely close is happening.

Plus, I think part of the problem is not really having much choice about it.

Several months ago, my wife was gone all day with her car and friend of mine needed to borrow my car for the day. I had nowhere that I needed to go and had no plans to go anywhere.

Drove me fucking nuts all day because I couldn't go anywhere. lol

Just need to put this out there...

I think it's awesome that we have the technology that we have today. It enables all of us to communicate with each other and that definitely helps...especially at a time like this when we are being told to separate from one another physically.

However, because we are essentially "e-friends" we can't see or hear each other which removes some of the keys like tone, facial expression, inflection, etc.

Because of this, when folks who are in an area that isn't being hit as hard are talking about things not being too bad, or not having to take more extreme precautions, or posting things that are more positive in nature...it can come across as taking things too lightly to those who are in an area that's being hit hard.

And, when folks who are in areas that are being hit hard are talking about the more extreme precautions that they are taking and posting more about the negative aspects of this thing...it can come across as panic or being overly dramatic to folks in areas that haven't been hit hard.

I know that when I'm reading some of the posts from folks in areas that have been hit hard, I have to remind myself that this is different for them.

As for the "politics" in this. I'd like us to keep that shit out. With the exception of South Korea, it doesn't look like any "leaders" of any country have handled this thing well...all the way down to local levels. That shit just creates more division.

Besides, politicians have NEVER been the ones to get us through tough times, it's always been the people in this country. In fact, often times it's been the people in this country getting us through in spite of the politicians.

Hey if you have an issue with what I said mention it to @Mecca. I got those numbers from her # 17807 comment.

And don't forget your own words from page 882- "the cure is literally worse than the disease". You seem clueless as to the real severity of this virus.
Actual and factual.

Yep.

Perception is reality.

I stopped trying sway folks, one way or another, days ago.

Let the pinheads keep licking the toilets, the doomsdayers keep buying up the TP.

Those of us in the middle just have to endure.

California didn't wait as long as others to issue a strict stay at home order.

If they had, I'd imagine it would have unfolded in a similar fashion as NY.

Thank goodness for that.

In all honesty, earlier in this, when you and @bksballer89 started posting some of the bad stuff you were seeing, I found myself giving the ol' eyeroll and I think some of that may have come across in some earlier posts.

It became obvious fairly quickly that this isn't being experienced the same way everywhere, so like you, I'm done with trying to sway anyone.

I think we can all agree that the toilet lickers and doomsdayers are some quality entertainment though. lol

Yeah, I think LA would have been hit a lot harder than they have been.

One good thing about it too is that much of the panic buying here was done pretty much over a weekend. Most grocery stores here a back to close to normal stick levels minus a section here and there.

Gavin Newsome being a sissy may have worked in our favor for once. lol

That was a of big part of it for sure, but many other factors made NYC get it bad and CA much less so (for now). NYC is extremely densely packed, it's much colder than CA (worldwide the warmer places are.all doing much better than the colder ones), they don't have the work from home culture of techie CA. A very underappreciated point is all the Europeans that fly to NYC, Europe has it real bad too.

But they are strong people there they will best this

Yeah true. Good thing is I live in Jersey now so I only need the MTA for 2 minutes when i go to work.

Once they cut back on the MTA normal weekday schedule, the trains got more crowded. Who would have thought if you run trains every 20 minutes instead of every 5 minutes that they'll be crowded instead of empty :L

Yup.

You pointed this out the other day.

You aren't sitting in a hospital for 12 hrs everyday.

So, obviously things look different.

I'd mute him in a heartbeat if I still played people online. Also, watching this stuff made me realize I must be the only one that plays 2k with the broadcast camera angle instead of the basket camera angle.

I'm the same way. That angle they were playing on sucks.

Some of these players were bad. Also looks like using the Bucks is a cheat code. Players using the Bucks went 3-0.

Trae Young looks like the best player.

I'd be a little wary about saying things might not be as bad in CA just yet. There's people saying they might be seeing a flattening of the curve there due to their strict orders (as well as Washington), but there's also this

CA's testing rates are fairly low. Their numbers could bounce quite a bit with more testing.

The flipping of the camera angle after a change in a possession always bugs me. It takes me a beat longer to get refocused. I'm so use to watching basketball on TV so I feel most comfortable playing with the broadcast setting. I noticed that Bucks trend too. What happens if two players want to use the Bucks?
