I would do that if one the 3 WR's are there, not for anyone else. I don't think Denver will make that trade. They need a receiver just as much as we do. I think the team to trade with is Cleveland @ 10. Possibly Miami @ 15, but I doubt one of the 3 will still be there.

The Eagles face some difficult decision(s) Do you trade for one of the top 3 WR's or do you stay at 21 and draft a J Jefferson WR/ Or do you trade down, there are a number of good players that are going to be available at the top 10 picks of the second round. Do you want one of the top 3 WR's or 2 of IOL Ruiz, WR Aiyuk, S' Davis or Chin, CB Igbinoghene, Edwards-Helaire, WR Denzel Mims. This assumes, of course, you can get 2's for the 1st?

Which brings the follow-up question BPA or needs in round 1? I say BPA.

Hi Fly Eagle! Welcome to the forum. I take it that you moved to Spokane recently? If not, I see that you like the Philly sports.
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, I want Howie to trade up to get one of the top 3 receivers. I want quality v.s quantity. We can get another WR in the mid rounds, but I want a stud. I think that the Jets are the best possible trade partner to get into the top 10 15 picks. I hope to get Jeudey, or Lamb. Ruggs would be my 3rd choice. I think we'd be able to give up #21 + #53 t the Jets to get this done. What do you think?

Thanks, Old Duke, I lived in Philly back in the '60s-'70s with the parentals. We lived out in Southhampton Bucks county. My father introduced me to Philly sports. It stuck for life with me and my kids. Just moved from S CA to here because of kid and grands. I am not sure which way I want them to go. My gut tells me they might make a trade...that is kind of Howie's modus operandi. What who or what who knows. Maybe even for the DE from the Jags.

From what I'm hearing ... it seems the Eagles really want to add WR KJ Hamler as the heir apparent to DeSean Jackson and will look to move up a bit from their 2nd round spot in order to get him. Rd 1 seems up in the air ... I know the Eagles don't ever take a LB early, but this is the year where the planets may line up perfectly for them to take one at 21 as you have 2 fantastic options in Patrick Queen and Kenneth Murray while having lost our best option at the position in Nigel Bradham. Nate Garry is the best LB left on the roster from last year and he had 15 missed tackles on the season which was something like 3rd or 4th worst in the league. Jatavis Brown whom we picked up in free agency is young and fast, but lost his job in 2019 and became an afterthought; how good can he really be? CB is also another position they could seriously look at with 21 ... but I'd rather trade down into the early 2nd if we are going that route. Maybe a guy like Jeff Gladney who's a player I've liked for a while now.

Fly, I grew up in Willow Grove, and now live in Willow Street, a small village south of Lancaster. We moved to Lancaster County in '74, so I'm a native of this area. We sold our home, and lived in an in-laws apt. in the basement of my daughter's house. My daughter, and my youngest Son both graduated from Penn State. She married a guy who has a small chocolate candy factory here, and makes a lot of money (best chocolates in the world)! My youngest is an academic advisor to student athletes at Temple U. My oldest works for a lumber factory in Winder, Ga. We have 10 grandchildren, and life is very good, in spite of this pandemic. Stay well, and keep in touch!

If they don't trade up for a stud receiver, maybe they will trade down and get some picks back and can make some moves, like you mentioned. Coming away with Queen, or Murray + Hamler, would be a great start in the draft.

Hamler's drops bug me a bit, but he fits what the Eagles need on the outside to compliment the 12 man personnel with Ertz and Goedert. He can learn for a year under DeSean Jackson while still contributing (and filling his role if DJax misses games). The Eagles do have plans for JJAW even if the fans have given up on him ... I think they envision him as that possession guy opposite DJax/Hamler even though I can see the Eagles drafting another receiver aside from Hamler at some point (maybe a player like Gabriel Davis from UCF in Rd 4). Ward should be fine in the slot as he built some chemistry with Carson down the stretch.

I’m not in on Hamler, he just seems limited to speed. There are much better options. If Howie is truly serious about Hamler I have serious questions about Howie.

What do you guys think of the second and third tier of WR's? Devin Duverny, Juaun Jennings, K.J. Hill, Tyler Johnson, A Gandy-Golden, Michael Pittman, John Hightower, Q Cephus. Are two of these guys worth Jeudy or C C Lamb alone? In other words, if we trade up to get a top-three WR we will lose more draft picks. That could make it improbable two grab 2 WR's. I really like Duverny and Tyler Johnson. Traded picks means other areas that need addressing long term IE LB, CB, S are not addressed this draft. A quandary for sure.

Hamler dropped 17-18 percent of the passes thrown his way. I'm not high on him. At least as a good first-year contributor.

Baylor WR Denzel Mims drawing serious interest from the Eagles?

The plan could very well be Mims at 21 then Hamler in Rd 2. They could very well envision Mims as the Alshon replacement and Hamler as the DJax "eventual" replacement. I can see the Eagles preferring Mims over Jefferson at 21 as Mims is proven as a flanker while Jefferson thrived in the slot. Greg Ward produced when called upon last year and the Birds may be comfortable with he manning the slot.

Flanker: Denzel Mims backup JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Robert Davis
Slot: Greg Ward backup Deontay Burnett
TE: Zach Ertz backup Josh Perkins
TE: Dallas Goedert backup Josh Perkins
Flanker: DeSean Jackson backup KJ Hamler, Shelton Gibson

Injured Reserve: Alshon Jeffery

Hamler is a smaller Shelton Gibson. Pass.

There are other fast guys that cause the defense more problems. I like Jalen Reagor.

I like Gabriel Davis and Duvernay as targets with that 103 pick or slight move up.

I want to like Tyler Johnson, but question the ability to separate at this level.

I don't want to trade up for a WR. None of these WRs are really that exciting to me. The Oklahoma offense gets CeeDee wide open by itself. Jeudy and Ruggs come from the same offense and neither lead the team in yards or TDs!!!

I like Reagor a lot anywhere in Rd 2; I've heard the Eagles have been in contact with him a lot lately. Mims, Hamler and Reagor are the 3 that the Eagles have been linked to the most this off season. Jefferson is the player "mocked" to us the most at 21 and even though I like him a lot, I don't think the Eagles are looking his way at 21 as they are looking for "outside" targets to draw the attention away from Ertz/Goedert who will continue to be their money guys in the middle of the field. Outside guys like Mims, Hamler and Reagor would prevent defenses from cheating towards Ertz/Goedert. Greg Ward should be just fine as our main slot guy ... tough and sure hands, plus he can find those soft short zone areas.

Here are some stats from the combine to give you an idea of the 40 times, etc. And, very interesting the comments about who were the winners, in their opinion. Mims just may be the apple of the Eagles' eyes, even though some experts Howie to trade up for one of the "elite 3". Rey may be right on with his opinion. I'd like it if Howie could get Mims, Hamler and Reagor. Wouldn't that be a coup? He'd need to do a lot wheeling and dealing! Keep your eyes o n Jamed Proce in the mid rounds too.

I personally like Aiyuk better than Mims. These 2 added to the so-called Elite 3 make up the top 5 WR’s with perhaps Reagor being #6.
There are a couple guys that are very intriguing for Day2-3, Hightower and Claypool. I would be thrilled if the Eagles were able to add 1 of the top 5 and then 1 of my next 3 (Reagor, Hightower, Claypool).

I think he is their guy. Every team has different scenarios play out on their board. If this happens we go this route and so on. I bet the Eagles are anticipating the big 3 to be gone and it's between Mims and Jefferson in round 1. I've personally felt that Mims is their guy all along. We'll see.

I like Mims, I just think people are mis-casting him as a speed guy after his Combine measurables. From what I've seen, he's a young Alshon Jeffery (possession guy) ... not really a field stretcher. I'm fine with him as the pick as long as we compliment him with a speed receiver later in the draft (Reagor, Hamler, Aiyuk, Duvernay).
