Seems as if everyone is focused purely on drafting a WR in the 1st round but how about securing a top defensive player such as McKinney or Queen or Fulton etc
Nearly every mock that I have done has Queen and McKinney available. Others also like Fulton and Epenesa. If Queen and McKinney are available at #21 I would most certainly draft them over Jefferson.
There will be some damn good WR talent available in the 2nd round.

I don't think too highly of Futon. He got picked on in the championship game. The others are good. I just want to get the WR position stabilized.

Solid WR’s available in rounds 2-3 like Hightower, Reagor and Hamler. Even some talent in the 4-5th rounds like Cephus, Quez, Q. Davis and T. Johnson.
In my most recent mocks I picked up Reagor in the 2nd and McKinney in the 1st.

If the offer were good enough I think they might be inclined to trade down at that point.

And I would be good with that. I’ve always been a proponent of having draft picks.

Oklahoma LB Kenneth Murray is a player I would like to see the Eagles consider at 21 if WR isn't in the mix.

Since they haven't drafted a LB in the 1st round since '79 (Jerry Robinson), it is HIGHLY unlikely that they will take one now.

The Eagles tend to surprise when you least expect it ... who saw the Javon Hargrave signing coming? I do agree that taking LB at 21 is very unlikely, but Murray would really be a good add and would coincide with us improving that D in the off season. We can still go WR/WR in Rds 2 and 3 ... plus we still have 3 4th Rd picks to play with as well.

I know but I think they'd trade for Ngakoue before they draft a LB in the 1st.

Well that is the media talking point but that alone doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Stay tuned.

People say what you just said EVERY year and they have NEVER taken one.
Not never, just a long time. Things can and do change. It’s irresponsible to think that something will never change. That’s not to say it will change this year but someday it will.

So would it be outside the box if they did indeed end up taking a lineman at 21, if one of the higher rated guys dropped to our pick?? Strong possibility given our draft philosophy and history.

If Wirfs, Wills Jr., Kinlaw or Mekhi Becton fell to 21, do you think the Eagles would pass on a WR for one of those guys?

There is a MUCH higher probability that they would take an OL than a LB in the first round.
On offense they'll take a QB, tackle, or WR in the 1st and on defense they'll take a DL or CB. Any other position is extremely doubtful, regardless of need.

I like Jeff Gladney from TCU. We need all sorts of speed and Gladney can fly and stick with any WR.

Cornerbacks are always jumbled up across people's and teams' draftboards and I like him 3rd at the position. There are some other longer guys, but covering is the most important thing and that's what he does best. He's not a project, he's ready to go out there and compete day 1.

I think they would have to. That is some good talent. This is a deep WR class and history has proven that WR’s taken later perform as well or better. This is a good year to rebuild a WR corp.

I would be happy to see Trevon Diggs in Eagles green.

If we trade up I think it should be for CJ Henderson. Lockdown corner is more valuable than WR.

We had the worst pass defense in the league and got rid of our best defensive back. It's not enough to only trade for Slay back there.
