My breakdown of our offseason moves so far.

AJ Bouye- You're getting one of the better cover CB's in the NFL if you look back prior to 2019. Bouye slipped a bit last year but Jacksonville was pretty poor last year, and their defense really took a step back. Bouye has decent enough ball skills, but he also tackles well and up until 2019 he played at a pro bowl level the following few seasons. He blossomed as a Texan, got a big contract as a Jaguar.. I still think Chris Harris can play at a high level in the NFL, but we are getting a little younger player who can probably cover the outside a little better at this point of his career. (Harris is best in the slot) Doesn't have as good as feet as Harris does, but can probably run with WR's a little better than Harris down the field.

Graham Glasgow- OG Lions- Think to what is one of our biggest issues the past few season. A sturdy interior OL who can stay healthy. A lot of people think we overpaid for Glasgow, but if we did it surely wasn't by much. What else more can you ask for with a glaring need? A guy who gave up 0 sacks last year, averages giving up 2 sacks a season, and is extremely durable (knock on wood), team him up with a rising 2nd year OG in Dalton Risner. (This is where you start putting the Fangio pieces together, for our next signing)

Melvin Gordon- RB- Chargers- We go out and get one of the better RB's in the NFL for 8 million a year on a short two year contract. You have to think of here..... why? What does Fangio want to do here? Why did Elway bring him in? Remember when Vance Joseph was essentially a puppet doing everything Elway wanted him to do? What's this mean? Fangio is getting what he wants. He wants an old school, run the football and play good defense to win football games. Elway is trusting in him and Elway is changing his tune. We now have Melvin Gordon and Philiip Lindsay which on paper is probably the best RB combination in the NFL now, behind a sturdy/solid interior OL (still need to get C right if it is Patrick Morris or not). I think this move more than anything makes me appreciate what Elway is allowing Fangio to do. Why bring a guy in and not let him do what he wants to do as a coach, otherwise why hire him? Gordon led the NFL in broken tackles from 2015-2018. He is a great receiver out of the backfield, something we don't have in Lindsay and he is a much different RB then Lindsay, so this provides a lethal 1-2 as long as our OL stays healthy and productive. Plus a great goal line RB to get the tough touchdowns in the trenches, something we again... HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH FOR YEARS!!!

Jeff Driske QB Lionsl- He is what he is. The best thing about this move is you don't have to change the offense up for your backup QB. Driskel is not as talented as Lock (not even close), but in terms of the offense you don't have to change a thing with him in the game as far as what type of offense you run around him. Smart move... We aren't winning with a backup QB anyway, but at least this is easier on the offense.

Sam Martin P Lions- We got a better punter. Nobody can really jump for joy with this one, but at least we got better here. As much as we have punted the past two season Wadman never really got any better and was one of, if not the worst punter in the NFL. Terrible with placement.

Jurrell Casey- DT- To me this is the offseason steal of the year in the NFL. We get why the Titans did this, they needed cap space for Tannehill and Henry... but the fact they did this deal with us and not another NFL team is gracious. Maybe having Mike Munchuk around knowing the Titans staff helped with this? I don't know but I feel very lucky to be the beneficiary of this move. 5 straight pro bowls. We gave a 7th round pick for a guy with 5 straight pro bowls whom we probably will get his final best two years of his career on his contract. He will be going into his 10th season so this isn't a long term steal or anything like that, but he hasn't show any signs of a decline. He is vet leader at a position we REALLY need and is hard to find a quality player of his caliber. This is much more than a stop gap, still playing at a very high level. His contact is really set up fairly nice for us... After it is up he will be finishing year 12 and maybe if he is still playing at a high level (which I think he will play well for at least two more years) then he sticks around one a smaller deal, or we go with a more youthful movement after, but we still get this guy at a bargain trade price for two seasons.

Nick Vannett, TE, Steelers- Has been a bit of a letdown thus far. But no worries. At worst he is a healthier version of Heuerman and we have a pretty darn good 2nd year TE we are depending on a lot more. If Vannett can block well for us, and catch the ball well in certain situations then this move will pay off. He doesn't need to be Shannon Sharpe. He just needs to be Joel Dreessen.

what about Shelby. Based on his play last year alone, might make him the steal of the offseason

Luck is definitely on our side this offseason, extremely lucky to get Harris back, and the trade for Casey was unbelievable. All the pieces seem to be falling right into our laps. Let’s ride the wave, right to the SB

My breakdown was of players we signed/added. Not re-signed. Shelby Harris was a great re-sign at the price we signed him for.

That was amazing, but realize - the Broncos themselves put that out. It sure gave a sense of how it goes down on the Broncos FO. Interesting - Matt Russell connections struck up the two trades.

That is something that stuck out to me too. Fangio and Elway are the faces of the franchise but Russell is one of the most underrated people on staff.

@cdumler7 There we go. Now we have Lamb and Ruggs covered in the avatars.

I needed to wait until after my pick in DCFFL to not tip my hand.

Very nice! Glad you were able to get him. I keep hoping in the regular draft one of the top-3 can fall to the Broncos, but not sure if I am the Broncos of taking such a risk. Fill the biggest hole on the roster left and figure out the rest as you go.
