Clearly, there's a mood indicating some reluctance to deal with the original question. While there is the general thought that " it's time to move on from TW," the original question(s) remain...

1. What would your reaction be if Trent ended up playing for us this year?

2. Would that reaction be the same if he actually re-signed with this team?
(Effectively finishing his career here)

Not sure if he plays because he has to fill that obligation.

Absolutely dedicated If he's re-signed to a new contract, he will be giving 100% because it's his final contract and he ends his career here.

Wow, have attitudes changed and I don't know where it's coming from or upon what it is based.

Trent Williams has always given 100%of what he had when on the field. Did I miss a moment when that wasn't true?

He didn't give it 100% last year on the field. In fact, many fans feel he abandoned them and the team. That's where its coming from, warranted or not.

Many fans are delusional or at best, don't understand/care that there is a business side of the game. Every player knows it well and I seriously doubt that any of them believe that he abandoned them.

People who refer to themselves as "fans" are fickle as hell. Fanatical if you will. They want, what they want, and if they don't get it, they do what they do, as if it's going to make a difference in either the games played or the business side of it.

More rational people, won't allow these things to get to them at the point where, emotionally they feel "abandoned.". Sure they complain when things go bad, but be assured, it's never internalized and never, ever, personal.

This would be a little different had he been honest to begin with by saying it was all about the money. Instead he costs folks their jobs. He’s a sensitive bitch. He cried when they drafted Christian, and then his little feelings supposedly got hurt because he wasn’t the first FA the team talked to this year.

Wow, such feelings! ... and all because a player felt then acted some kinda way.

Turns out, the people who lost their jobs didn't deserve them in the first place.

Bruce Allen... who garnered cheers at his dismissal not because it was done but done 8 years too late.

The medical team... that fell in line with common NFL practice instead of keeping faith to our oath, "First do no harm."

J. Gruden??? Nope he fired himself and the staff that he meekly put together.

I get it, folks want to be angry with Williams, but a bit of honest reflection might lead to the conclusion that Trent Williams actions bought about the changes, long overdue this organization.

If he goes untraded, he will play for this team, or, at least be placed on one of the exempt lists.
He's not going to play for the Skins. The bridges have been burned - like cooking popcorn in a microwave oven for 30 minutes instead of 3 minutes. Somebody actually did that where I worked. The kitchen was ruined for about a month. Yes, I did go off on an a tangent there.

TW may not play for the skins ever again, but I doubt he'd just be cut or released. There is no reason to do that whatsoever.

The best thing for the Redskins to do is to trade him for fair market value. If that's a second round pick, so be it.

The best thing for TW to do is to either lower his price, or retire. He's not going to simply be released. He should be placed on one of the exempt lists that costs him money for not showing up.

It's debatable if he even wants to play anymore, anyway. A few workout videos posted to social media don't mean anything.

Again if not traded, he's going to have to prove that he's physically able to go in order to get paid this year. Washington will want to put him on an inactive/exempt list and the legal wrangling begins.

Hate to state it, but unless he's traded, re-signed or let go, things are destined to become worse than ever before.

I think right now TW is banking on no nfl season. I’m not sure how that would work. Would his contract year be accounted for, and would his salary be paid? If so that’s probably what he’s looking for in the least.

There are also a lot of tackles in the draft so until/if some team feels it is getting shut out I don't see anything happening.

That’s the thing that sucks for the Redskins but really more for Trent. It sucks for WAS bc teams will give shit offers bc they know they can get a top 4 OT in this draft on a rookie contract. Sucks for Trent bc WAS isnt going to give him away and he wants top money...why pay top money when you can get a rookie on a cheaper contract. Doesnt look good

yup. Someone is going to need a LT before the season begins, just like someone is going to need a QB.

Trent is going to have to come off his demands, however, or he may retire as a Redskin.

Wrong, TW will be traded before or during the draft. Cam is a totally different situation.

If TW is not traded or cut, and he decides NOT to play the 2020 season for the Skins, do we still own his rights heading into 2021? Does he accrue a season without playing?
