Vaccine won't be ready til next spring at the earliest. Reason why Fauci keeps face palming everytime someone says we are close to a vaccine. It takes time.

US would have to fuck up pretty bad to still have sports cancelled next fall. It won't take a vaccine to bring them back.

This is math.

Right now we are all stuck at home to reduce the numbers going in. It is the only variable we can currently control.

Once the treatments reduce the time spent in the hospital AND we have few enough new cases that we can actually test everyone in a new cluster aggressively and contact trace, we won't have the same problem. Smaller bursts will be much more manageable.

If you believe the research going into better drug therapies just aren't going to work and Americans just won't take this seriously enough to tamp it down, then maybe.

Lots of talk about it happening to empty stadiums; which I would be far more for than not having it at all. But boy, what a bummer that would be. So far it hasn't canceled anything I really care about.

Man... This thing is looking worse and worse.. Louisiana is about to blow and FL is gonna follow in 2 weeks.. Hopefully this forces the ncaa to let ea sports make a new ncaa football game.. We will need it

The south east is fucked right now because of spring break. It's a spike that should clear in about two weeks, maybe 3. It too will pass.

We locked things down fairly early here. Our numbers are going down in some areas because we realized how bad it was spreading while other areas in the state waited another week/ 2 weeks. Right now the issue is people in rural areas are classifying things as ‘essential’ and they aren’t truly essential. So while suburban and urban areas around my part are seeing drops, rural areas are skyrocketing.

beginning to think the best we can hope for is games in mostly empty stadiums. Maybe a few sparsely placed family members, band members, etc. But no stadiums packed with 100,000 fans.
