They'll delay the season but it'll be played. The quality at the beginning is going to be spotty because they will miss spring and a lot of practice time. Conditioning will be an issue because these guys are going to lose a lot of weight room time.

Guys, this is first hand.....I'm living this nightmare.
My grandson has been accepted and is on Plymouth State football team, They are still scheduled to be on campus August 13 and will be starting practice on August 14. The head coach has been in contact with him because schools and gyms everywhere are officially closed. He's told him not to allow himself to get out of shape.
If the fall schedule is canceled, every player will be allowed an extra year of eligibility. I told my grandson that this will be an opportunity to get the toughest courses out of the way with high grades. He may be able to take an extra class each semester and back off in his Senior year and only take two classes in his fifth year and Graduate in January of 2025.
He's a determined kid. He gets up every morning at six. He goes to a high school field a half-mile from here and runs two miles. Then he does 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 yeard passing routes. he comes home and goes down cellar and lifts for an hour.
He tore his ACL and Meniscus last July and had surgery to replace and repair in August. He's run several unofficial 4.5 second forties in March 2020. He started running the stands yesterday.
MY guess is that both the college and professional seasons will be cancelled.

The thing is we don't know everything we need to know about this virus, like we do with the flu. It'll be interesting to see how this thing reacts to extreme heat and if it makes a return in the fall/winter time.
