I am tired of the stop “everybody else” type defense. Especially when we don’t stop everyone else. Contain the hot player. Let him kick it out and then if everyone else is hot, then so be it.

Were they trying to stop Gordon?

@MHSL82, if the Jazz gave the rest of the league the Corona virus, can YOU then say that "The Jazz Are The Worst Team In Sports"?

I do not approve a thread proclaiming a team is the worst in sports when the opening reasoning is that it doesn't have Carlos Boozer on said team.

That's just downright ridiculous. Boozer was horrendous in his Bulls days. I still have nightmares of that jump shot.

They may have gotten it from a Boston Celtics fan (confirmed positive) who got someone else infected and that person got an autograph from Gobert and Gobert got it from him and then give it to Donovan. No one has any clue on where anyone got anything because it does not show for 2 to 14 days.

You're right.

You'll find any good reason not to say the phrase. ;). This was a good one though.

That's the difference between the Jazz and the Bulls.

The Jazz have always had great players, like the two-time All-Star Boozer, and the Bulls have not.

@jayswag would say that Boozer would step on his own mother for a rebound.

I still have happy dreams about Boozer's jump shot, and his inside play, and his passing, and rebounding, on the Jazz.

Boozer was ok his first few years on the Bulls.

The Jazz Are The Worst Team In Sports.

They should be fined millions of dollars, for tanking the NBA Finals series.

They weren't trying to win.

If they were, why would they have single coverage on Michael Jordan near the end of game 6 in 1998?

They should have had their best defensive plan on him.

Jordan even said he knew he could fake Russell out. He said Russell leans too much.

So, Jordan got him to lean in one direction, freeing up space. He did exactly what he said he was going to do.

These defensive plans are better.

That would be:

1). A double team with Malone. Try to alter his vision?

2). A double team with Stockton. Try to deflect the ball.

3). A triple team. If he makes the shot, at least the Jazz made it more difficult.

If he passes it out and Steve Kerr hits another series winning shot, that is better than Jordan doing it. At least they gave it to someone less likely to do so.

If Jordan stripped Malone on the previous possession, then the Jazz had to go back out and strip / deny Jordan.

So many other options would have been better than single coverage on Jordan, especially with a defender Jordan wanted to see.

And look, here they are tanking again in 1997! How can they not secure the rebound off the missed free throw?

Chicago Bulls at Utah Jazz Play-By-Play, June 11, 1997 | Basketball-Reference.com

0:46.0 84-85 Utah full timeout

0:46.0 M. Jordan makes free throw 1 of 2 +1 85-85

0:46.0 M. Jordan misses free throw 2 of 2 85-85

0:42.0 Offensive rebound by M. Jordan 85-85

0:25.0 M. Jordan makes 3-pt jump shot from 22 ft (assist by S. Pippen) +3 88-85

Look, Stockton stole the ball from #23! This is exactly what should have happened in the Finals!

No thoughts on this post? I thought that was one of my better jokes.

Bumping for the thread title.

Because their playoffs losses make me feel like shit.

That's why they're the worst.

Losing twice to the Wizards and Timberwolves... Phoenix and the Jazz are trading wins and losses. Glad the Jazz are ahead a bit with an easier schedule, but even without Mitchell, Jazz should beat the pesky T’Wolves, as Hot Tod Hundley used to call them. Part of me was happy they didn’t go to overtime again just to lose.

A part of me is happy to see thread bumped, because I like this thread title.

It also makes it clear, for this season, what it takes for this thread to be bumped.

Also, it was the regular season. Luckily this thread isn't being bumped during the playoffs so far this season.

Washington is also on a 7 game winning streak, and have Beal and Westbrook healthy again.

Were they healthy when we lost to them either time? I’ll check when I have a chance (besides spending the time here to post).
