UMn can claim the 1st black pro fb player in all of history.
UMn can claim fully 1/3rd of the Big 6 of the Civil Rights Movement.
UMn can claim both the Majority Whip and the Minority Whips of Congress throughout the 60s, so the guys responsible for signing the Civil Rights Legislation, and one, Hubert H Humphrey, being one of the first to propose such legislation back in the 40s.
UMn can claim the 1st black All-American QB, Sandy Stephens.

And I could name off several more similar things.

And Oregon's reputation is what? CHILD SLAVE LABOR???

Let’s talk about this decade. Has your Football team played in a NY6 Bowl? Has your Basketball team been to a Final Four? Has your Baseball team been to the World Series? The 3rd college sport based on viewership is WBB, has UMn been to a Final Four?

UMn has a Final Four in women's BB in the 20th Century. Team was led by Lindsey Whalen, she went on to become the winningest player in WNBA history, and now coaches the Gopher's Women's BB program.

UMn has a Women's VB program led by an Olympic Silver AND Gold Medal winning coach, that has been to SIX Final Fours in the 20th Century, and has the #1 recruiting class in the nation coming in.

UMn has one of the 15 winningest College Baseball coaches of ALL-TIME coaching them right now, with a Pre-Season All-American Pitcher on the squad, and they've beaten Oregon and Arizona so far this season.

UMn has a Softball team that went to the WCWS last season. Ranked Top 20 right now.

CBB team is struggling to get into the NCAA tourney right now, but the team is dominated by Sophs and Frosh. The 2 seniors it's losing are non-contributors, and an injured player also should come back next year. So basically, UMn bb doesn't lose anyone to graduation but gains 3, 2 recruits and the injured player. Only glitch might be a Soph going early to the NBA???
