Exactly. Why sue anyone if you don't need the money? It was tragic for everyone including who you are suing

The suit, if successful even if its just a settlement, will likely bankrupt the company. That's likely the motivating factor, not money. It's ensuring that company never operates again. They'd probably lose all business anyway considering the circumstance but going the legal route would most definitely up the chance of that company ceases operations.

The guy flying was a friend, whose daughter also died with him.......

The guy flying was the only pilot Kobe would use, I don't know as they were friends and the pilots daughter was not on the helicopter.

Agree. I'd also add that it's likely any money that was awarded would go to The Mamba Mambacita Foundation or maybe even spread out among a few charities that Kobe was involved in.

I doubt that, as they couldnt operate without a comprehensive general liability insurance policy. But the amount of the loss run, could force them to sell the company or create a new company under a different name, stock ownership to avoid having to report their loss runs in the future

That money will most likely go to the other victims first to avoid being sued by them. Kobe should have seen the fog and realized the flight was high risk and his estate could be be held jointly liable if sued

It wasn't Kobe's call, it was the pilots.

Just shy of 2 years and it still doesn't feel real.

Yeah, its unreal. Yeah I remember when It broke out, it was shocking.

That's why we really have to learn to appreciate Life and how it can be really short.

And learn to appreciate greatness when we're seeing it. Nothing wrong with not liking a player and still appreciating his greatness.
