Shocker.

At least Wiggy had the temerity to make his own predictions as opposed to "what he/she said".

True.
He also, once again went into hiding, when every prediction ended up being wrong.
Thats why he’s getting shit on.
Not because he was wrong.

He loves to try to dish it out, but certainly can’t take it.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Wiggy. Believe it or not, I'm not as obsessed with him as y'all.

It was a mere reminder that you folks shouldn't get used to Miami being a so-called "upper-bracket" playoff contender. They did a nice job clearing salary at the deadline, but other than Bam there aren't many long-term pieces here.

Looks like they're pinning their hopes on free agency yet again...

Which is precisely what Miami should do.

Just questioning who that guy may be, that's all. Do they go all in for Montrezl Harrell? It's a weak class this summer. Do they have enough to potentially lure AD from the Lakers? How about someone from 2021? Not really seeing it...

The system has evolved that your can't really strategize to catch that big whale anymore, be in through free agency or the draft. Though Obviously @logic still thinks that strategy will work for his Pistons to magically land them in the finals.

The reality is you need a sound management team to succeed today. There's no shame in being a seed in the 5-6 range in a top-heavy conference, but if Miami is going to cling to the cling to the formula that worked for them ten years ago - Chances are their current standing is as good as it's ever going to get for them.

That guy may not exist this year. Harrell doesn’t move the needle enough and AD probably won’t be available.

If that is what plays out, they should overpay a player or 2 on short term 1 year deals line Philly did with Reddick, then preserve cap space for 2021.

Please don't pull me into your other arguments, especially by putting words in my mouth.

As the season moves past the middle, some more conclusions can be safely made:
3. The Bucks have 22y.o. Dragan Bender in their future plans, not only they guaranteed his contract, but started using him in the regular rotation (they only gave him garbage time mins up to now).

Ah, the memories...

Giannis and maybe Beal are the needle-movers for 2021, and Giannis had already stated at least once that he would not be the same player in a glamour city like Miami.

One example of my previous post may be the Brooklyn Nets. Here's a team that's done everything right to catch that FA fish, and they still arguably aren't a contender.

Both Kyrie and KD will have some serious tread once they return next year.

They definitely could be a contender. But you are right that if they even are, they probably will be in that second tier group that would need a lot of things to go their way.

That said, could Miami’s current core elevate to top contender status by adding role players? Possible, but not super likely. Sign a guy like Beal though? Yeah, that could do it.

Depends on the context.

Giannis didn't just enter the league and start dominating. He developed into the monster he is now over the course of about 3-4 seasons.

A drawback to the "glamour type cities" like Miami and LA is that there are a lot of distractions for a young guy who is suddenly a millionaire.

So, he may be thinking that with the distractions a city like Miami has, he may not have spent as much time developing his game there as he has in Milwaukee.

Now that he's a veteran and more mature, he may feel that he can handle the distractions now.

Nice how you throw in your city in a discussion that happened to be about the Miami Heat. Conflict of interest, perhaps?

In your words...

And yet the Pistons will still make the Finals before the Pacers. They have decided to leave the no man's land of finishing #5-11 in the conference, bottom out, get a good draft pick and wait for Griffin 's salary to fear of they can't pawn him off somewhere.

Any way you spin it, the Pacers have a better management than Detroit and it really is not debatable. The Pistons technically don't even have a GM, and Stefanski is a retread.

A team like Minnesota, in one instance, that has one playoff appearance in the last 15 years, came to the realization that what they've been doing hasn't been working. So, they took it upon themselves to hire Gersson Rosas as team president. Therefore, even though they aren't very good in the present - At least they have hope for the future.

Can't really say the same for the Pistons...

Yeah, I mean after all, why would I bring up a city that has a lot of distractions as an example when I'm talking about a city that has a lot of distractions?

I mean seriously, who backs up a point with other examples that back up their point?

What could I have possibly been thinking?
