If I were Dak I’d ask people to name all the other really good QBs who took FA discounts in the past so the team could sign other players.
BRADY, ben, brees has taken less than avg didnt manning for a bit tooIf I were Dak I’d ask people to name all the other really good QBs who took FA discounts in the past so the team could sign other players.
Who cares? It’s fucking Dallas. Gross.BRADY, ben, brees has taken less than avg didnt manning for a bit too
you could be right...most of the talking heads say if Dak were on the open market he'd get 35 plus.If its your first contract I wouldn't take less but I don't see anyone paying Dak Prescott the money he is looking for

I think the lowest he'd get is around Goff & wentz money
before emmits deal (I believe he signed in 1996, missed opening day)
6 seasons
93 games
2007 carries
8,956 yards
4.5 per carry
96 TD's
96.3 YPG
4 rushing titles
3 seasons of 18+ rushing TD's (twice over 20)
6 seasons after he signed (including that season he signed)
92 games
1,791 carries
7,231 yards
4.0 per
52 TD's
78.6 per game
0 rushing titles
never scored more than 13 TD's in a year
2 carries per game difference. scored half the TD's.
dont pay RB's.
and emmits a hypocrite.
thats my poiintThat downturn wasn't from getting paid, it was from wear/tear/age. These star athletes are artificially underpaid by the NFL system, especially in previous years, by those rookie contracts. If Emmitt was a free agent after 3 years, he would've gotten paid big then, and would still have been that elite back.
This is kinda my point...let's say max value is $35 mil per...what's the big deal if he takes $28 mil per to stay in DAL?
If we're taking about $12mil vs $5 mil...that $7 mi gap is a huge number.
When you're getting $35 mil vs $28 mil...leaving $7 mil on the table is not a huge number.

Brandy's wife is worth 400 MILLION he can afford to give a discount, I don't recall Ben giving a discount, and Brees' discount came long after he got paid large sums of money. This is Daks first chance at cashing in.BRADY, ben, brees has taken less than avg didnt manning for a bit too

7M is huge no matter how you slice it. If he signs for the reported 33M or even slightly less, that should be seen as a team discount at this point. This is kinda my point...let's say max value is $35 mil per...what's the big deal if he takes $28 mil per to stay in DAL?

I can't think of any doing so on their first new deal.Others still have, somewhat.
Ben took a bit less, just said that silly gooose!I can't think of any doing so on their first new deal.
I can't agree with this and I know his agent sure doesn't. Maybe IF this wasn't Dak's first contract after his rookie 4th round deal you'd have a pointThis is kinda my point...let's say max value is $35 mil per...what's the big deal if he takes $28 mil per to stay in DAL?

Ben gave a discount on his 3rd deal not his 2nd. At least that's how I see it looking back at his contract history.Ben took a bit less, just said that silly gooose!
Talk was he took less than he could to help his line out. But it don't matter . Daks gonna get paid. Jerry screwed up with his contracts this year.Ben gave a discount on his 3rd deal not his 2nd. At least that's how I see it looking back at his contract history.
I see he was the highest paid in 2008 the year he signed. Now 2015 he signed for basically the same amount he signed in 08. I'd say that was a discount.Talk was he took less than he could to help his line out. But it don't matter . Daks gonna get paid. Jerry screwed up with his contracts this year.
