And I bet I know who the prime target is. ........ but I'll keep it to myself.

Oh it OK to say, don't think it's a secret I like Kittle a whole lot. My offer was rejected for now. Maybe we can tweak it to work IDK.

Well, if you want a first round pick, come a calling. But I've looked quite a few times and just can't see where, other than the simple fact you don't have a #1, that what I'm selling, fits what you might wanna buy, at a price I'd be willing to accept. Certainly willing to be wrong though! ;)

The one thing I got going for me is thus far their is nobody I feel I got to have in this draft, just a lot of guys I won't mind taking a flyer on. That could change of course.

I know what you mean. ..... luckily I see Brees is back for another yr or so which lessen the 'need' to stretch for a QB. I do need some youth in the mix throughout though since there are a few vets that I think I've milked about all the usefulness I can get outta them. .... name of the game.

He either really loves this draft class or he's accumulating a pick dynasty for something REALLY big down the road. ...

I'm surprised you guys are that surprised. While I do love me some Aaron Jones, I just don't really think he'll be able to duplicate those touchdown numbers on a year to year basis especially with Jamaal Williams still eating away at his touches. And I'm a lot higher on Kerryon Johnson than most people so I honestly don't think the drop between those two is that much. Yes I am very high on this class and now that I have the 1.9 also, I can use the 1.1 and the 1.5 both on running backs and still get one of the top wide receivers at 1.9. I added the Robby Anderson part because he'll be a free agent and I'm hoping he lands at a great spot.

Like I mentioned earlier, its significantly more than I'd give for Jones. Seems like quite the hual to me. Personally I think he gave the dude a quick, one eyed monster, colonoscopy on the deal.

My only question is, just wtf is he gonna do with all those picks, and why so gung ho on the rooks? Especially after pick 6-8?

Personally feel Bandit was better off before the trade, he's trading starter for depth basically. Jones is a worthy starter even if its as a high RB2. Johnson is a flex type, Anderson is a roll the dice kind of guy with all the off field trouble, team, ect and the 1.9 is cross your fingers and hope pick. if it all works out Bandit has more depth at the cost of his starting unit. I guess Bandit was sincere and not just blowing smoke when he said he valued Gordon higher then most. A lot of high risk, high reward types.

Fout made that same offer in a deal involving DHenry, and 1.9 was just too deep in the 1st round to cough up a known commodity.

Even if Henry only lasts another season or two, based off running style and usage, I think that's a fair assessment of his shelf life, it's still 2 more years of high end RB2/low end RB1 production vs a shot in the dark at 1.9

But also - if you're going to overhaul a healthy portion of your lineup, this is a good class to do it in, so kudus to Bandit for making the moves to try to take his team to the next level

If for nothing else - - trade bait.

That's what I'm thinkin' too. Some A-bomb mega deal for half the first round

So it really wasn't as trade bait. I really wanted that 1.9 to be able to use it on a wide receiver which allows me to take two running backs in the top 5 (sorry not sorry Treff). Although I say that and I have another offer out that involves the 1.5 but that one has been out for at least two weeks now. It's not that I don't like Aaron Jones, it's just that I really think that last year was the best season he will ever have, so if that's how I feel then now is the time to deal him. I also really like Kerryon Johnson and feel like he could put up 1300 yards and 10 touchdowns next year which puts him in high RB2 territory, which might be slightly worse than Jones, but I felt like the 1.9 and 2.3 were more than enough to combat that difference. I also really wanted Robby Anderson since the free agent wide receiver class is so weak this year so I hope he ends up somewhere awesome. All in all, it will still depend on whether the 1.9 and 2.3 picks end up working out, but even if they don't I feel like it's a 60/40 loss which could turn into a 70/30 win which makes it worth it to me. So there is my entire thought process. LOL.

I feel a little left out that Fouts didn't offer me his "deal". :dhd:
Not that I would have accepted, it's just that I think Chubbs should have been on his list.:heh:
I'm starting to feel better about my chances with some of what has happened as of late. Obviously having both Carson and Penny getting injured was a depressing turn of events for my roster and no picks to shore things up either. However as much as I hated seeing the Seahawks sign Olsen ( because they have bigger needs) that could /should help my roster. Think RW gets leaned on more this season and Russell has been targeting the TE position way more then he once did, maybe my black hole at TE see's some daylight this season. Nothing grand, but I could see Olsen improving on last years numbers if his health permits.
Bree's is coming back, good news for Thomas, if the Saints resign Bridgewater then I really feel secure on Thomas future. In any case Thomas is going to continue to get the lions share of targets regardless of who the QB is.
Stafford is coming back , good news for Golladay. Lastly like the coaching change for the Browns. The new coach has a history of leaning on the running game. I think Chubbs is going to kill it this season.
Got hope that either or both Cooks and Shepard can bounce back some. Got to love the off season when hope runs wild.

We have a saying in the sales world, hope is nice to have, but it's not a strategy.

Fun fact about Carson - he had the toughest RB schedule last season. Hard to gauge if that changes next year, and if that really helps you out if it does, as more RB stats takes yards/TDs away from Wilson. But I also don't believe the recent blurbs about Wilson airing it out more next season.

No love for Will Dizzle Dissly with the Olsen signing now?

Well, at this point, I'm just hoping one of Lamb or Juedy gets there, and I'm not looking at DJAX version 247 with Ruggs

Well I really think that AJ (Roll Tide) will take Jeudy with the 2nd pick since he's such a big Bama fan, but I've been wrong on him before. He reached the year that he drafted Calvin Ridley and I know he'd love to own both of them. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th picks are all wild cards to be honest though because none of those guys are very conventional with what they do. Roll Tide at 2, Fighting Irish at 3, and Wrecking Crew at 4 could do anything.

Not sure Carson is going to be ready to play when the season rolls around, maybe he will. Like Dissly, but seems brittle, thus the thinking another TE option was needed.

Well, Harold, if nothing else Fout is a realist and knew the SF RB's weren't gonna get him Chubb. But I am a bit surprised he didn't at least try since he has Hunt. ....
