I actually like it. It frees up the whole playbook but, the offense has to play quick with only a 20 second play clock.

It is the kick off rule I think is ghey.
That's the only one I think shows promise. At least it avoids a "block in the back" flag on 3/4 kickoffs.

ABC announced today that the inaugural XFL game did 3.3 million viewers. They said that the audience grew as the game went on, which is a good sign of interest. They did 4.0M viewers in the 4:45 to 5:00 p.m. quarter hour.

Last year's inaugural AAF game, by, comparison, did 2.9M viewers on CBS.

Every crew has featured a lady ref this weekend. Think it might be an XFL rule.

It is, but they are all College Refs.

XFL Week 1 referee assignments
well, I don't think they're gonna get the one-and-only Sarah Thomas NFL ref to come in to do XFL. Sarah Thomas started out as a college ref also. Where else they gonna get knowledgable FB refs from? maybe high school football? If they lady refs do well in the XFL, they might get job offers from the NFL.

I'd be curious how large the lady college-ref selection pool is... can the XFL pick and choose, or is it a guaranteed shoe-in because of small numbers? I have no idea.

I don't think they should try to poach NFL refs, female or otherwise. Only took 1 week but it seems XFL refs are already vastly superior to those in the NFL.
