The talk is (radio) is that perhaps the Eagles job isn’t that good. Can’t call plays and maybe there is an issue caused by Pedersons backpedaling on who is staying and who is going.
Who is calling the shots????

Agreed - there's apprehension for some candidates because there appears to be, on the surface, a power void in the organization... not a good look. Pederson really flubbed his end-of-season presser, came across looking weak.

Having said that, the Eagles will find someone, I know it's frustrating we see names coming up and then going elsewhere or saying no thank you - there's plenty of good football minds out there and Doug has admitted he wants to be meticulous about who he brings aboard to share the offense with.

I think it is interesting that they can't get people to take it. Perhaps that has to do with Wentz's injury history, or the lack of receiver talent, in addition to the fact that Pederson clearly likes to play a big role in playcalling and offensive design.

Did any of you ever think that maybe they have someone in mind that is coaching in the SB? I think most of you are over thinking it. The Eagles is a plum job, there are plenty of people that would take it.

I think that is a good possibility, but teams want to keep the promising ones that they can promote, if they can. If there are not any of those left, then someone like Caldwell could be the OC. I do like the possibility of McCown, as either the QB coach, although Press Taylor is still here, or even the OC.

Andy Reid is still one of my favorite coaches. He is a class act and I think he is still loved my a large number of people in Philly. When he left it was time for him to do. He did not get fired they talked about it and both Lurie and Reid were great about the transition.

I agree that Reid is a flawed coach but what coach isn't? I think this is the year he gets his SB ring and I for won will be extremely happy about it.
Huh? He's white...

I am trying to figure out what you mean by that. Any help on that?

He should be considered scrappy if anything.

Andre:
I met this doctor, Dr. Maxwell. Real class act.

Pete:
Is he...black?

Andre:
How'd you know?

Pete:
Nine times out of ten, when a sportscaster is referring to someone as a "class act", they're talking about a head coach who's black. "Tony Dungy, what a class act."

Kevin:
"Total. Lovie Smith-class act."

Andre:
I never noticed that. I mean, it happens all the time?

Kevin:
It's not just football. Sportscasters use these code words in all sports. If they're talking about a Latino player in baseball, like, "Ozzie Guillen is a..."

Ruxin:
Firecracker. Latin guys are always firecrackers.

Kevin:
"...firecracker."

Pete:
Spark plug.

Kevin:
Spark plug in the clubhouse.

Ruxin:
Wes Welker is like a gym rat, a real scrappy player.

Kevin:
Which is code word for "white."

Ruxin:
Always a white guy.

Kevin:
Ichiro Suzuki is...

Taco:
Inscrutable.

Well, their plan might have been Mike Kafka from the sounds of it, but Reid has blocked it. So I am not sure who on KC or SF would be our coordinator now.

Race has nothing to do with it. Class guys are: Dungy, Caldwell, Lovie. I wouldn't necessarily say that about Ray Rhoades, but Tomlin is, although he has his moments. The former MLB of the Bears was classy, but he too, had his moments. So, the bottom line is there are/were classy coaches and not so classy coaches - both black and white. Period.

Maybe it’s the goatee and sunglasses, but he looks like he would get along with Jim Schwartz.

He played for him at one point, and it sounds like he has a good relationship with him. This might also be an heir apparent if Schwartz finally gets a head coaching gig at some point.

Good. Maybe he will be someone that can finally figure out what JS wants done with the secondary and execute it lol

This article contains a very good and realistic list of what Philly needs to do this offseason.

Highlights:

* Cut Peters
* Cut Bradham
* Keep Jeffery because you have to pay him either way
* Re-sign Jenkins to a lucrative extension but only for about two years
* Move Maddox to safety and move on from McLoud
* Use free agency to address corner and LB
* Use the draft to address WR and DT
* Add speed on offense and admit Wentz is not a good dink and dunk QB
* Add a creative "idea guy" to the offensive coaches

Attach a 4th round comp pick and trade Jeffery?

I don’t understand the “keep Jeffery because of the money” argument. If this guy really leaked info to Josina Anderson (or if everyone believes that), get him the hell away from this team. I love the attitude he brought to this team and he was instrumental to the SB win...but that’s the kind of stuff that can kill a locker room.
