Winsipedia says something like 4 or 5 natties for Iowa.
That AND corn and bacon.
The fact you had to look it up, doesn't say much for their legitimacy, lol. That's also titles Iowa CLAIMS. And I get a kick out of how the 5th title is one in a year that UMn pounded the living crap out of Iowa, lol.
3 of the other 4, Iowa only had one selector select them. The other one, 2 selectors.
Minnesota only claims 7, 6 of which they had at least 4 selectors, usually many more than that, but if they claimed any teams with just one selector, they could claim 9, and that doesn't count 1903 when they went something like 13-0-1 with the tie coming against Natl Champions Michigan, so in my book, I count that one personally. Can't say that I know of any official selectors who do though, which doesn't make sense to me.
Wanna know another fun fact/trivia about almost all of Iowa's 5 titles? 4 of them were shared by either Minnesota themselves, 1960 the year we pounded the crap out of the Hawkeyes, or by a former Gopher, 1921 and 1922 Gil Dobie went 8-0 both years with Cornell, getting 4 selectors in 21 and 2 in 22, while Iowa got just one selector picking them both years. Guess the Gophers bested Iowa 3 of their 5 titles, so far. But in 1956, former Gopher Bud Wilkinson went 10-0 and got 13 of the 17 selectors while Iowa went 9-1 and got one selector. So that's 4 of the 5 Titles the Gophers, one way or another bested Iowa. The other one, well, it wasn't a Gopher that bested Iowa, but Iowa at 9-1-1 somehow got 1 selector out of the 16, LSU at 11-0 got the other 15. But hey, you go on an claim it. Why not, claim them all, as a Gopher fan I can chuckle every time you do.
