I understand the Larry walker doesn't belong camp... Biggest problem with it though, is that the biggest argument against him is something he couldn't control... and that is playing for the rockies…
Seems like we have too big of a bias against playing for that team, that we cant recognize the player himself...
Does anyone realize, that Walker was a defensive stud and was pretty damn good baserunner??
If we ignored the Rockies bias, he would have been a first ballot HOFer easily...
He really only brings up the question, how much of an affect is playing in Colorado...

I don't know why a 3rd world scrote that never played baseball (that's you) would bother to share his ignorant opinions about ballplayers he never watched play (that's you again), but I am familiar with many of the stat queens here on tHoop. There is a reason you ladies became stat queens and it's because you couldn't play and had no fucking idea what you were watching.

You can believe that if you want to, but it's no big secret that Coors field is known as a launching pad for hitters.
I don't have any issue with Walker getting in the HoF as it has been getting watered down with players who were very good, but not great for many years.
With the advances in training and training (wink, wink) aids many players will stay in the game into their late 30's or later and compile statistics. Then they reach numbers, 3,000 hits, 400 HRs, 300 wins for pitchers etc... that used to be considered automatic HoF tickets. There's no going back at this point.

Didn't double. If you take only his away splits he is top 100 all time ops and top 125 in slg%. He was a borderline Hall as a hitter outside of Coors, but still has a case. Add in his elite defense he is a shoe in even if you remove Coors from the occasion.

nobody is arguing that Colorado doesn't inflate numbers... the question is how much should a player be penalized for it... Just remember, those stats DID HAPPEN!!!!
Players cant be totally dismissed just because they played in Colorado... and the Colorado air, doesn't affect defense and base running, where he was well above average in both...

I understand your point and it's pretty obvious that he wasn't punished for having significantly increased power numbers at Coors Field. Again I would have Larry in my Hall of very good, but not my HoF.

Way to ignore that the 19 HR in Montreal was in a strike year which cost him 1/3 of the season (of course you'll ignore it as it doesn't help your argument).....he was on pace for a ~30 homer season that year.
And in the highest season HR total of his career (49 HR), he hit 29 on the road as compared to 20 on at Coors...and in the second highest season total of his career (38), he hit 20 at home and 18 on the road.
