missed it... saw the score though. Pretty big win in my opinion. They seem to be playing pretty good. Another big one coming up against the reno dogs

Obviously off to a great start in conference. Hope that trend continues. Don't care for nevaaaada-reeeeno. Their coach (Alford) is a real asshole.

It would be good for the program if the handed SDS their first lose of the season....
If they can play the way they have been, they have a shot. TJ was openly criticizing the team in post game pressers about effort, and may have stumbled onto a line up that is working, just by sitting guys they either werent trying hard enough, or had been late to team meeting/activities.

Word is he is recruiting over the top of everyone on the team and made it clear that anyone not giving 100% effort, will be gone. They got the message, and guys that werent really going to see much, if any, court time showed up big when they got a chance. They have gotten more playing time, and has opened thing up for the other guys that were a victim of a couple guys that were going through the motions.

I think TJ is good coach, and it has taken a little time for him to figure out what he has. The most inspiring thing, is he seems to actually be able to change what they do, based on their opponents. Something I havent seen in a very long time. It has been, "this is what WE do" win or lose, for so long. The dude is going to be good when he gets his guys in. I just hope they dont let him walk when they finally have some success over the next couple of years. 1 loss in conference so far, I'll take that!!

Either way I think TJ was the right hire.
There is serious commitment on the court now from this team.
Im curious to see him get a few recruiting classes under his belt and what he can really do to turn this program back into something good!

The question is will UNLV give TJ the proper amount of time to turn things around or will they treat him like they did Menzies?

They have to this time! They don't have the money to eat another contract and the high dollar boosters walked a while back.

Im not saying this is going to be a 2-3 year turn, hell it took this little Iranian dude we all know that turn this thing into one of the greatest shows on the college courts and it took him a while as well.

No. Menzies was known to not be cooperating with administration on community outreach, and recruiting from Finley Prep, and Gorman locally. He and his staff just didnt even bother. Plus, he sucked, and his team played like they were killing time.
They will give TJ 4 to 5 years

Thanks for the info. Was really disappointed with the Runnin' Rebels yesterday. Played SDSU tough then get blown out by CSU.

Yeah i watched.. Good game and great ending! Huge game winning shot at the end. They needed a win been struggling lately.

Loved the end of the game. Next one is always a big one. UNLV owes those clowns in reno some payback. Hope they have a good start to that game.
