Loyola spanked a K St team that had just beat Kentucky to get to the final 4. They were one of most unselfish teams I’ve seen in years and knew how to control a game. They were good enough to go into GAINESVILLE FL that year and come out with a W on the road. Not sure Dayton has done that this year and I’m not buying Dayton is a much better or complete team. We will see

Well to be fair, it’s tough to “buy” Dayton being a better team when you already admitted you haven’t even seen them play.

It also makes it impossible for objectivity.

I understand your point. That Loyola team was a good team and this Dayton team has still many games to play, but on pape3r, the Dayton team has more talent, possibly the player of the year.

Ahem......I do believe a mid major beat a true blue blood in the finals to win it all in 1966.

They didn’t get smoked in the first round man. Not even close to the same argument. They won 2 playoff games and then barely lost to a solid D and a lucky catch. I was rooting for the Giants all the way but that is a bad comparison.

I get it. It's still one and done. They were big favorites. Just saying I don't think one game always makes a season. They may be the best team of all time. But they still Lost a game. I see it both ways I guess. I'm a flip flopper

I think this year is wide open. No real clear dominant team or consistent team it seems. Now Gonzaga is strong and I thought they would do something last year but every year it’s the same deal with those cats.

So this year is probably the year haha but that said it could be a year for a mid-major and frankly I love seeing it happen. Senior and juniors playing is better to watch and better for the college game.

Road/neutral wins over Iowa, Creighton, BYU, and Utah(who had just beat Kentucky). Swept Utah State who isn't an easy opponent. MWC might not be great, but they got some solid wins OOC.

Saw them beat Creighton and Iowa, who is a really good offensive team, and defensively can be inconsistent.

Honestly, the MWC blows this year, and its not good for them because they need some tests before the tourney. They could be a real good team, but they need to be tested against some good comp and have some close games.

Yeah it helps to be really tested before the big tourney even if that means you lose a few more games, but some people act like the Aztecs haven't played anyone of note which isn't true. We won't know how this easier MWC schedule will impact their run in March until it happens, but all they can do for now is take care of business like they have.
