At least it is someone with his own style and schemes.
You meant Undlin will be masquerading MP's style and scheme, right ?
Cool.
Patricia hires a good friend of his that will become a former friend before long.
Pattycakes never read the 48 laws of power.
I thought nepotism was when you hire family.
1. Patricia already said that he's retaining the defensive play calling duties. So I wouldn't hold my breath expecting much schematic change.I am hoping he transforms it into something more dynamic then rushing 3 guys and dropping 8 back (4 of which couldnt cover me nevermind an NFL WR). Even the zones were not disguised.

2. The guy has been Jim Schwartz's DB coach for the last 5 years. Do you recall Schwartz ever bringing extra rushers? (answer is 'no'). He was running a 4-3, so they rushed 4 rather than 3, but never more than that.
The interesting things is, our coverages under Patricia have been heavy man; more man than any other team in the league. And Schwartz, as we know, was nearly 100% zone. We'll see if Patricia runs more zone coverages with this guy.
We're the best non-pass rushing team in the league.
That counts for something in the awards sphere of the NFL.
Actually Undlin has a speed philosophy when it comes to defense and Patricia is a power guy. Maybe this combo might actually work. PP did nothing but call plays. He added nothing scheme wise.
