I see two topics about Eli where people are debating his career and not one of them has a poll to tally it up.
So here it is;

Is he a HoFer?

This is if YOU think he is worthy, not if he will be voted in.

He gets in on name recognition and two crazy SB outcomes, not on his performance.

If you vote no, you must be retarded.

7th in passing touchdowns
7th in passing yards

That's what a QB does. Passes the ball.

Then he also has two Super Bowl wins.

It's great for him that he won 2 Super Bowls, where his offense averaged 18 points per game, but it shouldn't mean that he is a Hall of Famer.

Amazing how a guys last name, longevity and beating the evil empire twice gets him so much cred and will get him in. Without his last name and those wins over the Patriots, nobody would even think he was close to being a HOFer. He's like the other Giants QBs with rings except he managed to get two and lasted a lot longer. Although one could argue he should have retired when his brother did.

Well I guess he's no Troy Aikmen or Terry Bradshaw who won three SB's. But he was more important to his team and a better QB and better passer than either. He has better career stats and a better single season, plus more SuperBowl wins than Kurt Warner, plus he started over him at one point. He's got a better HoF resume than Warren Moon, or Ken Stabler, and I'd say a pretty close resume to Brett Favre and John Elway.

He's not in the conversation for best ever, but still easy into the HoF.

Deserving? NO. But he'll get in on his two SB wins. When he does go in he better thank his team after every period in his speech.

Probably not, but he'll get in. There's plenty of guys like Joe Namath who on objective stats don't belong in the hall, but they're in anyway.

Yes...He should be in the hall if Namath and Jergusen have a place.

Eli had the second biggest upset in SB history and performed when the stage was it's brightest.

He'll go in, but it's mostly because of luck. Lucky to start his career the same year the pass rule changes that have led to the product you see today. He could be considered as one of the 10 best QB's maybe a couple of times in his career...maybe....and this is HOF material?

Eli's top 10 in completions (7), attemtps (6), yards (7) & TD's (7). Yes he's only 117-117. The definition of averages. But with his 2 S.B. mvp's he'll get into the HOF at some point.

And if the passing rules helped Eli (which they did) you have to say those same rules helped ever QB since the change.

Of course they did....now look at a lot of those guys and how they completely blow Eli Manning out of the water. Guys like Rodgers, P. Manning, Brady, Brees.....those are legit HOF'ers.

With the 6th most pass attempts. Whoopity do. He'll be out of the top 10 in both soon enough. He has a horrible career passer rating for this day and age. Those numbers you mention have everything to do with longevity and nothing to do with quality.

That's true, which is why we should compare him to the QBs of his time, but he doesn't stand out as one of the very best under that test. Clearly, at least Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Wilson, and Big Ben are better than Eli, and an argument can be made for several other QBs.

No. He was an above average, but not great quarterback. His career stats are a function of aggregation over a long career in a pass-happy time in league.

Not disagreeing with that. But like it or not he has the passing numbers to get into the HOF.
