pretty weird to see a pitcher that lost game 7 sign with the team he lost to. Harris is a damn good reliever though.

Trivial pursuit: After losing the World Series to the Cardinals in 1964, the Yankees hired the Cardinals manager, Johnny Keane

Starlin's a decent player, good pickup for Washington.

Rangers signed Robinson Chirinos to a $5.75MM deal for 2020 (with a $1MM buyout on a $6.5MM option for 2021)

Dodgers signed Jimmy Nelson to a 1 year, $1.25MM deal with a vesting/mutual option for 2021

Would be nice to see Nelson regain his 2017 form. He looked great though his stuff seemed to deteriorate after his return last year.

Red Sox and Padres discussing a Mookie trade. Could involve taking on the Wil Myers contract and may not involve any of Mackenzie Gore/Luis Patino/C.J. Abrams. This would be awful. Myers sucks.

Jeff Francoeur said when he didn't know the mic was hot right before a commercial break, "boy, Will Myers is the best player for the Braves this series." He struck out every AB that particular game except for the bases loaded, one out double play.

ankees general manager Brian Cashman told YES Network that J.A. Happ will begin the season as the fifth starter.
Happ, 37, has been mentioned in trade talks, but considering that he's owed $17 million in 2020 and posted a 4.91 ERA, it's not surprising that the Yankees weren't able to find many suitors. On paper, the Yankees have one of the best rotations in baseball, and Happ could be a candidate to be skipped when applicable if he pitches poorly early in the 2020 campaign. Keep in mind that Happ's 2021 option is vesting based innings pitched or games started; another reason that he could get fewer opportunities to pitch this summer.

Francoeur is a homer, but he can't hold Joe Simpson's jock. Glavine is also a vastly superior analyst.

Here's hoping this is the equivalent of "Bubba Crosby will be our starting centerfielder"

Talks between San Diego and Boston regarding Betts are “ongoing,” Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports. The Padres have proposed scenarios that would send Myers, controllable MLB assets and prospects to the Red Sox, though like Acee, he suggests the Padres’ very best prospects haven’t been included in talks. Speier adds that the Padres have been willing to “clear the bar” that was set by last year’s Paul Goldschmidt trade between Arizona and St. Louis, wherein the Cardinals sent catcher Carson Kelly, righty Luke Weaver, infield prospect Andy Young and a Competitive Balance draft pick to Arizona.
