Honestly for all the talk of BYU's struggles being an independent, but there's a reason they haven't gone back

Sure the bowl game options will be garbage for us, but instead of playing 1 or 2 P5 teams non-conference then one in the bowl game we'd be able to get at least 4 or 5 on the schedule. There's enough independents out there to schedule games, we already play BYU annually, could be one of Hawai'i's 13 games annually as well.

I'm ready for us to go to Independence, I think it's a better shot for us than being stuck with this awful conference that just weighs us down
Shot at what?

The National Championship.
Yeah going independent is going to really help those chances. Good luck with filling schedules for your non-football sports. Should be a breeze to find opponents during conference play.

No doubt. The going Independent option is not a good one for us for multiple reasons.

Boise would likely hit up the other independent schools like BYU, NMSU, Liberty, Umass, Army, UConn, and Notre Dame to fill gaps. Im sure a few Pac schools and some like Minn, Iowa St, Kansas could be up in there

Sounds like they have a legal document, so don't need any options. Do what they want and let the conference try to sue.

I think they just wanted to get some humble brags introduced into court record, now it's official.

From filing:
Throughout its history, Boise State's football team has performed well, regularly achieving winning - and even undefeated - seasons and securing numerous conference titles and significant post-season bowl wins in the process, including three Fiesta Bowl victories in 2007, 2010 and 2014 over the University of Oklahoma, Texas Christian University and the University of Arizona, respectively.

Notre Dame wouldn't play them, aside from maybe once every couple decades

they play G5 opponents like every year including teams from the mountain west in recent like New Mexico, Nevada and Air Force. So I dont see why it couldnt happen on occasion

If I were Boise State, I'd just declare for the CFL and start paying players. There isn't a damn thing stopping them from doing just that.

Why not?

They would have an unencumbered advantage in US recruitment while also being the southernmost team in the league which plays in the prime of 'good' weather when dudes could exit high school and almost immediately start playing 'pro' football.

'Pro' rules for these kids is that they could play over the summer "before" their Frosh year and could attract a lot of action and attention. Especially from non-qualifiers with serious talent.

CA tried that shit, Boise should take it to the next level.

any team in the big sky would take their spot in a heartbeat....
If Boise leaves, the MWC is the WAC all over again. They do have options, but this isn't about options, it's about money. MWC screwed up and will settle out of court.

Are you under the impression they have none?

This is about legal contacts, and money, not conference realignment. But you already knew that.

He's just looking to be a tool and belittle Boise on how they'll never ever be PAC, blah, blah, blah.. He has a severe case of the red-ass with Boise. We've owned/clowned his Ducks for as long as he can remember and it hurts.
Pay not attention to his drivel, it's been the same garbage for several years now.

So they plan on suing the conference with no alternative conference to join? Not smart

The MWC is already the WAC 2.0, don’t kid yourself
