He is set to make his debut and reportedly he GAINED 8 POUNDS OF MUSCLE in one week. Also, said he is 8% body fat LOL. That is pretty funny too. First of all, this is pretty much impossible even with steroids. A lot of water weight, etc. Why the fuck are the Pelicans putting him through heavy weightlifting? He needs to lose weight, probably about 15-20 pounds and get more lean. This will help with his injuries issues or could help at least to prevent injuries.

Point is, if Zion keeps gaining weight instead of leaning up he will have an injury riddled career. Sucks for him he can't get trainers that know what is best for him. A meniscus injury at his body size is devastating.

I came here to see if anyone else is seeing all the additional junk in the trunk. He looks like 10-years after retirement Barkley out there. No way he should be making a debut, he should be doing conditioning drills for a few weeks.

He hit some 3s late, but for the most part, he looked like a dude that hasn't played basketball in 4 months

I'd be really worried if I were the Pelicans FO. Sure he was out for a long time with a knee injury. But he took way longer than expected, apparently didn't do anything to stay in shape during that time, and didn't show any of the desire to get back on the court. Couple with rumors he considered going back for another year of college, and to me he sounds like a Jexas football player. Enjoys the attention and perks of being a man among boys, but unable to apply the work ethic to succeed at the next level.

It's interesting.

His line looks great:

22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 18 minutes.

However, he did most of his damage (17 points and four 3's) in a 3 minute stretch. He also had 5 turnovers.

It was basically 15 minutes of not much, with a 3 minute explosion mixed in.

The Pelicans went from the least watched team to now the most watched team in just a Quarter of a game

And let's be honest.....no one cared to play D on his 3 pointers. Can he really shoot the shot or was it one night of good fortune. The way they continued to slack off I'd say maybe the latter.

But still looked promising for all that time off.

FO and training staff. Why would they put him through heavy weighlighting sessions. He needs to lose 15-20 and do more cardio based activities/exercises or the same thing will happen to him unfortunately.

He looks like Draymond his rookie year. Just big and bulky. He needs to slim down to reduce the wear and tear on his body. Here's what Draymond looked like coming out of college versus when he slimmed in the NBA.

Except Dray was 6'7, 236 on his draft profile, even if he added some after. Zion was listed at 6'6, 280 on his draft profile, and clearly has added to that. For someone with lower body injury history before he even turns 20, that's not a good look.

Yeah good comparison but at least Dray weighed much less. Zion is bigger than Lebron, bigger than a lot of PF's/C's. I mean if he lost 20 pounds he would still be in the 260's. Crazy

Dray was also several years older.

His legs are massive, which also give him that leaping ability. But yeah at 6'7", he needs to be in the 240 range at worst. Otherwise having that additional 40-45 pounds is going to either cut his career short or continually have him injured throughout the year with small nagging injuries.

I mean, I thought Zach Randolph was a pretty bulky guy but I looked it up and he was 6'9" 250lbs. But he could maintain that because he was a below the rim player. Zion's going to blow out a tire carrying all that additional weight in the long run.
