First I want to say for as much shitting on and hating that I’ve done on Rian Johnson for the Last Jedi(which was all well deserved), he deserves nothing but tremendous praise here, such an incredible movie.

Honestly might be in my top 5 of the year maybe top 3.

The trailer did nothing for me. It looked like a Clue reboot. I'll give it a look in a few months.
Clue is a board game rebooted from murder mysteries, lol. Ill go see it. Looks intriguing.

Yeah hes overall a very good director

Looper, Brick, Knives Out are all all very good-great movies

And he directed the greatest Breaking Bad episode as well

finally saw this movie... I heard from everyone that it was a great movie, so went in with already a high expectation... shocked that the movie still exceeded it...

basically anyone who doesn't like this movie is a communist...

saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Good amount of humor mixed in and the cast does a really great job...no one is stepping over anyone else.

some political jabs throughout that I got a kick out of too.

good whodunit movie.

Saw it yesterday, one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. Daniel Craig did some solid acting

Rian Johnson also did a movie called Brick that I really liked. Check it out if you haven't already.

An entertaining movie. I don't think I'm quite as high on it as the rest of the board but I would definitely recommend it to almost anyone. The people around this movie did a great job. I love the Agatha Christie font and the trailers that give you almost nothing to work with. Even the name adds to the movie. The cast is great. The characters here are really deep and very believable which seems like an improvement from Looper and the Last Jedi. The dialogue is fun. The pacing is fast and switches a few times. Johnson really does like poking at the idea of pride in families and Knives Out dials it to 11.

I did figure out the twist in the movie. Sorta. I knew that it was either Ransom or the victim was still alive when Evans mentions that part about how she was better than him at their game of Go. The importance of the game is such a weird occurrence in the movie that its obviously of note. It might actually be less weird to see this movie if you're watching it in China because Go is common there while Chess is the game people generally play in the West.

I like how the plot ties into the idea that she wins because she is a good person. Otherwise at the end she is just another person of privilege which is definitely a route they could have gone if they thought they were being cute. Personally, the politics of the movie neither adds nor subtracts from this but I assume that it adds a lot for some people. I wouldn't call this movie a lazy attempt at anything, though. It earns the point its trying to make. The 'always need to tell the truth' plot device is a bit lazy maybe but it does get the character invested in the protagonist and gives you a good gag at the end.

B+
