I have an similar yet alternate idea to this for a future draft maybe but I'll give this one a whirl. In
spit it out... maybe we will like it more... last time we did this draft the players disappeared all together if multiple owners wanted a player... I prefer it that way...
Yeah but pretty sure that was after 2 rounds...or did we do this draft twice?
you guys did it twice, I did it once... LOL...
in fact it was the basketball draft I won... which is funny by itself... because I know shit in basketball...
But that was also before UK and 500 stopped voting for me no matter what my team looks like...
basically what this draft is except that there is a blind draft order, only you know which spot you are drafting in, and you send the draft admin your entire draft worth of picks in one shot, in the order you are trying to draft them. If multiple people draft the same player, whoever had the earlier draft pick gets the player. So after you send your picks, admin lets you know "ok you got your 1st, 3rd, 4th, 7th, etc" picks and you need to repick for rounds X, Y, Z etc. No restrictions on how many times you can try to take someone. the first turn is a b*tch for the admin to input as it takes a minute, but then the remaining turns fly by. Draft is usally over in 3 or 4 turns depending on sport or roster requirements. Only takes about a day or so. I ran one like this for football and baseball, the GMs seemed to enjoy it. I'd love to be on the draft side of the house for one of those some timespit it out... maybe we will like it more... last time we did this draft the players disappeared all together if multiple owners wanted a player... I prefer it that way...
It's on page 31 I did not see it listed before that and I went back to page 80.
the MLB one we did was all time and the NFL one we did was modern (post 1980) - here is a copy and past of the rules:
Blind Modern NFL Draft sign up thread...
This will be similar to the MLB one we did awhile back where you all privately sent me 18 picks at once, then the follow up rounds to fill in all the gaps of the guys you didn't get. It should only take a couple days to finish.
So this one is for NFL..
-we will break it into two 12 player draft blocks
-Once we fill up the first 12 player block, we'll start over for all of the remaining players.
-There will be a board flip prior to that for the 2nd block.
-You draft 12 offense, 12 defense.
-Make your teams as you see fit.
-you don't have to follow any order - you can make your first 12 all offense, all defense, or a mix
-all players careers must have started 1980 or later
Let's do something like this instead.
you could run it for hoop...either do all 10 rounds at once, or maybe break it up into 2 blocks of 5 or 6 at a time. if 6, each half would get a 6th man - I know that's not the norm here but might be a fun twist to see what people come up with and how that affects voting (or not)We haven't done NBA in awhile, it's time for that before MLB or NFL
