Marino, Favre & Manning didn't sit behind another QB for 3 full season either. As far as the yards & TD's: Marino- 242 games played / 240 starts. Favre- 302 games played / 298 starts. Manning- 266 games played / 265 starts. Rodgers- 181 games played / 174 starts.

Marino started 66 more games
Favre started 124 more games
Manning started 91 more games

Passing yards per game

Marino- 253.6
Favre- 237.9
Manning- 270.5
Rodgers- 259.4

Rating

Marino- 86.4
Favre- 86.0
Manning- 96.5
Rodgers- 102.4

So you’re saying that Rodgers wasn’t good enough to beat out an aging Favre for the starters job? That’s supposed to help his case?

Favre did sit for a season.

When we measure greatness, are we supposed to measure you on what you’ve actually accomplished or what you could have accomplished? I feel like Rodgers fans want to rank him higher than he deserves based on potential. I’d like to see actual results.

Yeah, the poll really backfired on the OP.

Backfired? I’m asking for people’s opinions. They’re entitled to disagree with me. I may actually put Rodgers top 20...but the poll would have been no fun if I asked if he was top 10 and everyone voted no. Seems like he squarely falls in the 11-50 range.

So you're gonna ignore all the extra games those QB's played compared to Rodgers? Marino has a worse playoff record (and no ring) than Rodgers. Yet you don't have an issue with that.

Based on potential? Don't make me laugh. Rodgers isn't some 1st or 2nd year player trying to make a name for himself. He's a 1st ballot HOF lock. Not my words. People in sports media say that. And his career rating is higher than Marino, Favre or Manning.

"Favre did sit for a season." True. But not behind a HOF qb. Then Falcons HC Jerry Glanville had no idea what he had in Farve. Chirs Miller started 14 games in '91 & Billy Joe Tolliver started 2.

I'm going by the numbers & nothing else. But you seem to be ignoring all the numbers & making excuses as to why you think he's laughably not a top 20 QB.

Wouldn't it just have been easier to say you dislike the guy instead of going against what his career numbers say compared to the other 3 HOFers already mentioned?

I have huge respect for Rodgers. One of the smartest quarterbacks ever.

Nobody said he isn’t a HOFer. The question is whether he is top 20. I may be willing to concede that he is top 20 but it’s clear that he is not as good as Packers fans hope/believe he is.

Well his career rating says he's kinda good. And it's not just Packers fans saying he's good or easily a top 20 qb. I get it, you don't like him. To each their own. I like watching all the good qb's play. Well except for Brady because he went to meeeechegan.

I actually enjoyed watching Rodgers quite a bit in his prime. He made some plays that were truly incredible. And he did it consistently.

What annoys me is the constant talk as if he belongs in the conversation for greatest of all-time.

Yah I'd lump him in top 20. Not top 5 though, MAYBE top 10. (Montana, Brady, Brees, Manning, Marino easily top 5).

Rodgers is simply average. He rarely shows up for big games lately and it's likely that his career is trending downwards at this point. It was a nice run, but his top 20 all time days just never surfaced.

Can't say I've ever seen anyone say he's in the qb GOAT conversation. Just wondering exactly who has said that? AR's a damn good qb. But he's not in the GOAT conversation in my opinion.

Brees is not a top 5 either... Brees and Rodgers are both in the same level... Both behind... Maybe Brees is a little higher thanks to longevity...

Montana, Manning, Brady, Marino, Favre, Young

and if you want to include Old school, then Unitas….

Not sure if I have Rodgers in the top 10 or not... But he is close...
