I agree 100% here. Most talented, and GOAT are not the same thing IMHO.

The problem is that the only stats for a QB is when he throws the ball. A QB could be #1 in all the stats and not be the GOAT. There are way too many other things that need to be considered. Using stats in football like they do in baseball is stupid. You'd have to get to at least 3rd tier stats before the best rises to the top.

I got that sense, too. Did he even try to recover that fumble on the botched snap? Seems like he doesn’t care.

Yeah, if that was Kirk Cousins that would be on replay all over of Kirk just standing around after dropping the ball. Don't think there is much rodgers could do, but lack of effort in NFCCG game....

Otto Graham and Bart Starr exist outside of tiers but should make a top 20 because they demolished their eras.

A quick glance at where the list from earlier stands, imo: (I might have some of these wrong)

Tier 1

Brady (14x PB, 3x AP, 6 SB)
Manning (14x PB, 7x AP, 2 SB)
Unitas (10x PB, 5 AP, 4 SB*)
Montana (8x PB, 3x AP, 4 SB)

Tier 2
Favre (11x PB, 3 AP, 1 SB)
Brees (13x PB, 1 AP, 1 SB)
Young (7x PB, 3 AP, 1 SB)
Rodgers (8x PB, 2 AP, 1 SB)
Marino (9x PB, 3 AP, 0 SB)
Elway (9x PB, 1 AP, 2 SB)

Tier 3
Tarkenton (9x PB, 1x AP, 0 SB)
Aikman (6x PB, 0 AP, 3 SB)
Staubach (6x PB, 0 AP, 2 SB)
Roethlisberger (6x PB, 0 AP, 2 SB)
Wilson (6x PB, 0x AP, 1 SB)
Bradshaw (3x PB, 1 AP, 4 SB)
Warner (4x PB, 2x AP, 1 SB)
Kelly (5x PB, 1x AP, 0 SB)

So I'd probably have Rodgers 10th all time if you include Graham and Starr.

Go back and look at the replay and tell me how he could have retrieved that ball/

Not making any excuses for that dumb ass play but for anyone to suggest that he wasn't giving an effort throughout the entire game is ludicrous.

I stand by my statement, Kirk Cousins would be roasted for just standing there, Rodgers, pass. I also agree not much rodgers could've done

It's not a mutually exclusive statement

Rodgers is very turnover adverse, but he turns ball over more in post season than he does in regular season, some of those To's have lead directly to points for other team.

But it also ties to my original statement. Rodgers is a top 10 QB, but he's not as flawless as some GB fans make him to be.

Never said he was flawless. Most "true" Packers fans would freely admit that Rodgers does not have the touch he once had and certainly agree that his two turnovers put the game out of reach.

It should be fairly universal Rodgers is past his peak, he's still one of the top QB's in the NFL. When you're talking QB's right now for one season, there are only handful I would take over Rodgers...Mahomes and Wilson are only two that quickly come to mind. You could argue few others, but he's in conversation

Which is more than I can say about Cousins.

It’s not even comparable to the Newton play.

Rodgers deserves his share of criticism but not going for a ball under 6+ guys multiple yards away with all of his momentum going the other way is not something that should be criticized as lack of effort.

Hell, watch the slo-mo replay. The ball was in front of the center. I don't know if he even saw the ball. But, if he did, not making a move towards it is pretty lame.

I stand by statement, if non Rodgers/Brady just stood there, they'd be roasted. I also agree there is nothing Rodgers could've done.

But feel free to get your panties in a bundle

pretty darn good list....I might find room for Fouts and maybe Moon too. Never was a big fan of Tarkenton
The only reason we even remember Warren Moon is because he's the godfather of the modern racist black football player following in the footsteps of Jim Brown.

With his pitiful performance in the NFC Championship Game yesterday, he fell to 10-8 all-time in the playoffs. That’s a lower playoff winning percentage than Donovan McNabb.

So, what say you?

Anyone picking McNabb over Rodgers is doing something wrong...

Elway is one of thee most overrated Dooshbags to ever play QB in the NFL and you're not old enough to have watched him suck in big games.

Pipe down and go sit in the corner.
But Brady is underrated, right? :L

Brady is considered to be the best QB to ever play the game so I would say his rating is right where it should be.
