Anyone planning on going this weekend? And has anyone ever attended past fests? I was already long removed from the Chitown scene when they started these events, so I've never been to one. I imagine they are pretty cool. I'm also guessing the fans will be a lot more pumped at this one vs those from recent years.

I hear they Sox Fest events are all sold out this year. I have never been, but have projected myself there almost every year - I'll have to attend some time. I've been to spring training in AZ a few times - and I highly recommend a pilgrimage there.

Haven’t been in years. Think it’s sold out, like @Mingo said.

I went to a ST game two years ago, attended two games last spring, now plan on going to at least one game this go-around, maybe two again.

I haven't been since the late 90's/early 00's. Went a few times.

I honestly feel like its more an event to bring kids to. I don't have kids and I stopped being a kid a little after the last time I attended. lol

I've never been to a Soxfest...but I have no doubt it is sold out. The hype is approaching ludicrous speed.

Based on clips I've seen of previous fests, it does appear to be geared toward families, especially dads bringing their little league kids. The part I'd be most interested in attending would be the Q&A sessions with the fans. Based on the clips what I watched from the recent Cubs convention, it didn't go well with their fanbase at all. I suspect the Sox version will be more upbeat, but I also expect the fans, some of the savviest in the game, to ask some pointed questions nonetheless.

It's been a while since the Sox had a better record than the Cubs...More fuel to the ludicrous speed fire.

"Hey Moncada, I know it's called the Windy City, but could you not fan over 170 times this season?"

I have no idea what you're trying to prove here Jiddy. You use to have the best sense of humor on this board and second place wasn't even close. For whatever reason, somewhere down the line you've become super bitter and have turned into a total fuckhead. I guess whatever gets your jollies these days.

Bitter only because all 3 of my sports teams sucked this past year. I mean, sorry you don't like it...but honestly, what the Cubs have done in the 2010-2020 decade vs us is comical and we're getting love and they're getting sh*t on? Are we actually projected to win more games than them this year?

Where on this good earth did I say we were better than the Cubs in recent years or that I or any Sox fan for that matter were the ones who shit on them at the Cubs convention. It was their fans who did the shitting. Cub fans are not happy with how last season ended and are angry that at least so far their take is management is doing nothing to improve the team. How does that get turned into a negative against the Sox or Sox fans? The Sox are at least trying to get better and fans have responded accordingly. I'd love to know how that is a bad thing.

I read your post to mean the Cubs were being sh*t on and the Sox are being exalted on high in general. Probably just lost in translation, but it is a follow up relative to all this "Cubs are going downhill...Sox are going uphill" articles and mentions I keep seeing/hearing.

Cubs have one of the highest payrolls in baseball and will continue to do so...so long as their management isn't completely inept, they will be consistently competitive. I would long for the Sox to be there. We need huge hits on most free agents (usually second tier ones) and prospects locked up for the long term before they outprice us. Furthermore, if the Cubs have a big fallout, they will rebound much faster than we would.

Life is unfair.
