"There's a lot of disrespect from people there that I don't want to be a part of. You can quote that," Arenado told MLB.com's Thomas Harding in response to Bridich's comments. "You ask what I thought of Jeff's quotes and I say I don't care what people say around there. There is a lot of disrespect."

He declined to discuss the "disrespect" in detail, though.

"No," Arenado said, per Harding. "I won't get into the details"

While Saunders cited sources who said the Rockies could look to trade Arenado in the second half of the season if they struggle out of the gate, moving him has its challenges. He has a no-trade clause and signed an eight-year, $260 million contract last February with an opt-out following the 2021 campaign.

Didn't he sign a $300 million dollar contract?

I don't understand what Colorado is doing here. They are looking to trade a top 3 or 4 player in the game.

I get that he signed a massive contract, but he could have gotten that from any team, his loyalty is being rewarded a year later by being shopped to the highest bidder.

Itsva business. If they (Rockies) don't think they'll be able to compete why not test out the market? Doesn't mean they'll do it

hate to see this. Arenado's the kind of player I want to see play for one team his entire career.

Damn you, Braves, if you don't make a trade happen here. Send 'em Riley, Wright, & a player to be named later.

He would if he was smart. Cause his offensive numbers outside of Coors field are good, but not great

I'm sure the Yankees can afford him, somehow they always can. Trade a bunch of prospects. Still a huge, long-term contract to take on any books

This is a duplicate of what went down with Aaron Judge. Arenado signed the contract hoping the Rockies would attempt to improve the team. The Rockies failed completely to do anything.

Rockies are sticking to the long tradition of having one great player and don't bother anywhere else. It is fair to say at least they attempted this time, but they attempted with a massive contract to Ian Desmond. A ton of money on a bullpen that fell apart too.

Taking him? He is arguably the best 3rd basemen in all of baseball. He is only 28. Is the best defensive 3rd basemen and gives you 40 and 100 while hitting close to .300 every year.

The issue for Colorado is the opt in 2021. If Arenado won’t waive that — they won’t get a monster deal for him as it could be a rental.

I'm strictly saying that from a money side, not talent side

Arenado did not even request the opt out clause. Colorado just tossed it in there for reasons.
