Damn you two make me feel old.

Playing road hockey, me and the kid next door always fought over who "would be" Salming. I love those 70s Leafs but BJ was always my favorite.

Good times and great memories. We even incorporated staged fights into our road hockey. Hey, it was the 70s.
93 is where it starts for me. Luckily there were a lot of big names around that time to want to be - I knew two kids with Borchevsky jerseys lol.

The goalie on our street actually did a pretty great job painting his pads & mask to look like Felix. Or at least I remember it looking pretty good - I was 7 and probably just thought spray painting anything was cool as shit.

There was a french family on the street who loved throwing it down though so we just straight fought half the time. The part of the street we played on was right outside my house too so my mom loved that.

The good news is the Leafs' upcoming stretch is basically horrible teams sandwiched by games vs. Dallas who, if the Leafs are good, should be beatable as well. That Florida game in the middle is the one game that'll probably tell us everything about this team and if they're actually good or not.

The other good news is that if they stink this stretch the hell up there are enough teams waiting to pass them in the overall standings and enough UFA's to be to flip (sought-after defencemen to boot) that they should be able to tank into their own first rounder and get a couple of good picks/prospects should things go completely downward.

Should be a fun ride!

I fully expect the Leafs to hit the snooze button for the first couple of periods tonight. Should be about 6-1 Preds after 40 minutes.

I will be the guy tossing his new Leafs jersey into the bench. Hoping AM34 pulls a Terrell Owens sharpie out of his glove, signs the jersey and tosses it back to me.

Seemed much more fun than you we’re anticipating lol

National Anthems. Engvall and Willy. Lucky them, sitting at my end of the bench.

And then the game started and I put the camera away.

Seemed like a very good game for the Leafs. Just a few mental breakdowns, Freddie made a couple of Pekka-esque saves to keep the score under control. Good solid game. But as @UTVolCountry said in the other thread, the Preds wont be making the playoffs this year. Good game for the Leafs, they need the 2 points in these matches.

nice seats, Dave!
you get to hear all of the curse words

You know, that aspect was disappointing. Leafs are a bunch of choirboys.

The only chirping I heard was when Austin Watson and GOAT collided near the benches. I could not hear what Watson said so I yelled "Hey Watson, you dont want any part of the GOAT". He looked at me with that "yeah right" smirk.

My friend said Eddie looks like Gary Bettman on crack there and I can’t stop seeing that now.

Speaking of him, the Buttgoblin was at the game in Nashville last night. Kinda disappointed in the locals, they did not know to boo. Very lackluster effort, which I assume was mostly the Leaf fans (who know proper etiquette).

I'm no fan of Bettman, but he does deserve some credit for growing the NHL from a mom-and-pop organization into the multi billion dollar organization that it is today. That said, the multiple work stoppages and non-participation in the recent Olympics still chaps my hide (I realize it's not all his fault, but he is the man in charge).

On the advice of Counsel, I cannot respond to this inquiry.

But I was back in BG by 1030.
From the article, this happened in Bowling Green.....

the article is quite good actually:
found the man later identified as Belfour laying on the floor on the hotel's second level, "clutching a curtain rod that had been ripped out of the dry wall above a window next to him. The subject was kicking the spa door while he was laying on the ground," the citation reads. Belfour had "slow slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, he could barely stand up, and he had the strong odor of alcohol on his breath."

Belfour was not compliant with officers as they tried to handcuff him, according to the citation.

Locked inside the spa room was the initial caller, who told police Belfour had been drinking downstairs, where he tried to fight another hotel employee and struck a glass window in anger before moving upstairs and trying to force his way into the spa room, according to the report.

but maybe he can expense the evening at least:
He is currently part of a whiskey company known as Belfour Spirits, according to a Facebook page for the organization
