Notice the state of South Carolina has 3 times the amount of in state talent in the NFL and note the state that is an hour from Clemson’s campus has 114 players in the NFL.

If you added up Nebraska and the in state talent of every state that borders Nebraska — You wouldn’t even reach what South Carolina itself has. But keep telling yourself — but, but, but Clemson. As I said — you could be the next Clemson, but only if you moved the entire university out of the state and into South Carolina. It is about location. Here is the perfect quote to summarize CFB today and Nebraska’s spot in it

This seemed unlikely, so I looked it up.

South Carolina = 51
Nebraska + SD + CO + KS + MO + IA = 77

Top football baby factories: Florida, Georgia; Ohio ranks 10th

Easy.

Losing to a 41 point underdog.

I was at that game. It remains the only time I have seen USC when I was at the game.

That game also arguably cost USC a possible NC too.

We have a lot to choose from. The one that hurt me the most was "Wrong way Bo". The most embarrassing is every game in the 2012 season. We were so bad that I would listen to the games streamed on the internet because I could not bear watching us play.

I think you could say that about at least 1 of the Oregon St games as well.

There are several you could pick for UCF.

2010: 31-21, at home, to Southern Miss.
2011: 38-17, at SMU.
2015: 15-14, at home, to FIU.
2015: 16-15, at home, to FCS Furman.
2016: 31-24, at Houston.

Think about how crazy that is, that 6 states added together only had 26 more than South Carolina.

The population of those 6 states is roughly 21 million. South Carolina is 5 million.

Now go a step further and add all the D1 programs from those states and SC has only SC and Clemson. Then add in Georgia, which only has Georgia and GT.

Nebraska couldn’t be located in a worse spot for recruiting purposes and once they moved to the B1G, it made it even worse.

Clemson is in a tremendous location. Anything by Georgia is huge, as the state puts out more blue chip recruits than they have scholarships they can offer to big D-1 programs.
SC and NC both put out a lot of elite level recruits and while NC and SC are solid programs — they aren’t big time football programs.

Right, I was only disputing your goofy exaggeration.

2005 versus Georgia. We were coming off of three straight top 15 seasons and pretty highly ranked going into Athens. Then we got the piss beaten out of us. 48 to 13 I believe.

Clemson is basically in Georgia. You cross the line north on I-85, and it's not long at all before you see the Clemson exit.

Hell, UGA and Clemson are only like 80 miles apart.

Yeah — I tried to explain this to Nebraska fans, how much of an asset the state of Georgia is to Clemson, but they think Nebraska is going to recruit like Clemson, while having next to no in state talent and very little surrounding them.
It will never happen IMO, especially now that they are in the B1G West and don’t have the huge rivalry games anymore like they did with Texas and Oklahoma in the past.

i agree with nearly everything you said, but fwiw, Nebraska/Texas was never a big rivalry. They only played each other fourteen times and Texas was never a huge recruiting state for Nebraska.

You got your revenge though.

After the first Georgia game our QB had to go see a psychologist. No bullshit. He really did. I don’t know how many turnovers he had in the first half but it was a lot. Like at least four or five a lot. He did bounce back with an undefeated season and a top 5 finish the following year though.

The 2011 game was definitely a role reversal. Man did Aaron Murray gets his ass kicked the entire game. Six sacks and several other big hits. I remember being surprised that he made it through. He was limping like crazy.
