Any lawyer will tell you: Cease and Desist orders are not worth the paper they're written on.

Reed should have had his tour card rescinded. I don't believe that any of the examples pointed put in this thread may be accurately compared.

Someone show me camera footage of another player's blatant attempt to improve his lie with the player expecting nobody to know or notice. Phil had no expectation that hitting the rolling ball would go unnoticed. If, as some suggest, he did it on purpose to protest the conditions of the waste area then he would have immediately called the penalty on himself.

Reed's is singularly the most blatant act I have ever seen a player try to pull off.

Now, what's most disturbing is that older players like me are stoic about this while younger players are, on some level, ok with it. That's fucking sad.

Take his card.

Tiger Woods blatantly cheated at the Master's golf tournament in 2013 and only received a slap on the wrist.

Yep.

Phil did as well at the USO a couple of years ago, swiping at a moving putt. although he was trying to make a statement about the condition of the course...he should've DQd himself after that one.

In either case, no way they would try to take either one of those cards back.

Sorry boys but until one of you shows me a player blatantly cheating with the intent to get away with it unnoticed, you're not making an equal accusation like that against Reed. It was sneaky, he had no intention of calling it on himself and he openly mocked the accusation.

Tiger may have been full of shit in claiming that he thought his drop was proper, Phil may have been full of shit in trying to contend that he make a strategic decision but neither of them tried to hide it.

Take Reed's card.

It goes a little deeper than gentleman's game...gentleman can and will cheat. It's suppose to be a self governing game and when players at the top of the sport cheat and act like it's not a big deal, that's a big blow.

Fortunately nobody gives a fuck about Mark Twain's take on golf...

had no idea pushing a lil' sand w/ a club has your panties still up in wad…lolz@u

Does it have to be a golfer? Cause I know someone who's been blatantly cheating for years.

let's play for cash someday,, with established USGA handicaps of course...

Mr W...in all seriousness...we can do that...I'm in metro ATL. My index is roughly 11-12, but it won't take but a few rounds to post to firm it up.

But this isn't about how good a player you and I are, strictly about the integrity of the game. A 30 that plays it down...I respect. We can have a money game any day. The 5 that plays preferred lies, and rakes in 3 footers...I don't. Even getting strokes, I wouldn't bet said player.

Reed is terrible for golf. He cheated at UGA. He cheated on the Tour. He's one of the most unlikable golfers in the history of golf.

Prefer he just always hear about it from fans.

Chamblee is the Reed of golf opinion. A

i'm in Portland, Oregon….don't have an established handicap, but safe to say this weekend hacker is somewhere around a 27 handicapper.

love playing opponents w/ the handicap tho, makes the game fairer.

btw…

i would choose Pacific Dunes in Bandon, Oregon (on the Pacific Ocean, along the coastal bluffs) as our battle field of play out here…outfuckingstanding views with potential horrendous weather conditions.

here's a pic of one of the holes to be played…balls in your court good sir.

LOL...your post makes references to some type of competition...I'm trying to figure out the relevance to the topic?

My court...Bandon Dunes is bucket list for me, but a bit far just to play you.

Handicaps...I kept a handicap for about 5 or 6 yrs and played on local AM tour a couple of years. I spent most of my time in the "C" flight (14-18 handicaps) and we typically would be the largest flight every week, with as many as 20-25 players on the popular tour courses. The point of telling you this...in 20 or so events, I saw enough rules violations or flatout sand baggers that were supposedly maintaining USGA handicaps that I don't really trust many.

If we had a friendly wager match...my suggestion would be to play 9, then bet on the back 9 with strokes established by the front 9 scores....For what still hasn't been answered to my knowledge.
