They may have been afraid that they would have to suspend too many players if all were punished. They may have been afraid of the player's union. It was a mistake not going after the players more though. Maybe they should have offered immunity to 2 or 3 of them, or offered a much lighter punishment.

Yeah, you can't worry about how many players it may affect. With the steroids issue it never seems to touch the big names it usually is some poor schmuck who is in the minors or floundering in the majors. Not always but usually. This is a big black eye to baseball and doing nothing is just going to make it worse.

Yes, he did. He struck a fine balance in that he didn't appear to be overly optimistic, and yet he gave legitimate reasons as to why at least one or two of them could be very pleasant surprises.

I could see A. Garcia pushing aside Heineman in ST, Swihart is an interest catching option that can also play 1B, and J. Rodriguez has been repeatedly mentioned in the bullpen

They may be forced to do something eventually. It is not a good situation when a player knows they are trying to be traded and then you end up keeping him. He is going to feel like he is playing for a team that really does not want him.

Yes he will get traded and the price of doing business is going down. Not seeing how this can be fixed on their end
