The one where they have a 3-7 record at home vs him.

How many division titles did Garrett have in all of his time there? 3 as HC and 2 as OC in 13 total years. Only 5 total playoff appearances in 13 total years. 3 total playoff wins in 13 total years. 0 NFC Championship Game appearances in 13 total years. 0 Super Bowls in 13 total years.

How many division titles did the Eagles have in that same span of Garrett as HC/OC for Cowboys? 4, 6 total playoff appearances in those 13 years. 6 playoff wins in those 13 years. Made it at least as deep as the NFC Championship Game twice in those 13 years. Won the Super Bowl not even 2 years ago.

What fear is there of Jason Garrett to an Eagles fan when all the real success has belonged to the Eagles the entire time Jason Garrett has held back the Cowboys for 13 long years.

For some reason you think I'm commenting on his and the eagles overall body if work during his tenure with the Cowboys. I'm simply commenting on his record vs the Eagle's in Philly head-to-head. Sure, they have had some successful seasons despite rarely being able to beat Garrett at home. Actually seems kind of strange you are arguing its because of it.

What in the world do Eagles fans have to fear from Garrett remaining in the division? Dallas was never a real contender during the entire tenure of the Garrett era because of Jason Garrett. I get to rest easy that while Barkley is one of the best RBs to ever play the game and is just in the early years of his career that at least he has Jason Garrett with him now to assure that the Giants will never really truly contend with him running their offense just like how Dallas never truly did either.
You can't have it both ways. So if they won 3 out of the last 6 NFC East titles with Garrett (one of those HFA throughout) and he is as you describe above then clearly you must have Dallas as a huge favorite to win the NFC East with a new coach :noidea:

He just seems like one of those guys that are ok to sometimes good but not great at any of it....
But Jarrah is probably spittin' cussin' and threatening to fire somebody...:dhd:

Garrett to me is absolutely fantastic at certain things: doing things the right way, practice how you play, paying attention to details, start with good technique and focus on the little things and the results will show, focus on the next play or game that is right in front of you and put everything else out of your mind. He is also an incredibly high character guy and a role model that sets an example the team follows and a tone for the team. Yes his clapping became a joke, but his constant positive outlook rubbed off on the players and he never got down on his guys which is kind of important for today's coddled, insecure, self-centered players because they never got down on themselves during the game either. Then in practice they would focus on correcting the errors and "getting better every week" and the players would repeat that. He was also great at dealing with Jerry. The idea that Jerry dictated who would play and the such was always ridiculous. Garrett not only made those decisions but he also made most personnel decisions with Will McClay and he and McClay were the two main decision makers on every draft pick and our drafts have been very good for the most part. If you listened to them both being interviewed it was Jerry who repeated the mantras that Garrett would say and not vice versa and that hadn't happened since Parcells was in Dallas. In subtle ways when all 3 (Stephen also) would be interviewed at the same time during those long preseason press conferences you could see him politely but clearly restating things Jerry said if they were incorrect (or stupid) and did it in a way that didn't challenge Jerry's ego and thus Jerry would follow suit and restate things in that same way when they came up again. He took the focus off of Jerry when it came to the players and kept them focusing on what was in front of them and what they could control.

BUT...something just goes wrong. He isn't flexible enough to know when things aren't working, he is so focused on repetition and detail that it makes it obvious what were doing. He removes things that could possibly go wrong and relies on what he is confident in. This affects everything about the team. It causes him to have a vanilla offense for fear that if he tries something else it will possibly not work, it causes him to rely on the players he knows for fear that a new player will be a problem or not know what to do in a certain situation which kept Dallas from upgrading certain positions or moving on from players that were hurting the team. He didn't grasp that sometimes playing a guy who hasn't mastered the Offense is better because he is just a better player and you are better off dealing with the downside of missed assignments from time to time to get a better player on the field. It causes him to play "not to lose" instead of to win and it makes him unable to make decisions on the fly about time management and challenges and going for it or kicking a FG or punting. He gets so caught up in overthinking things that it becomes paralysis by analysis and he is unable to make common sense decisions in a split second that EVERYONE sitting at home on their couch knows to make. I've said many times he is like Joe Torre in a lot of ways and needs a Don Zimmer next to him on the bench to help him with the in-game decisions.

I think he would be one of the greatest position coaches in the league because I think he is a fantastic teacher. He stresses the little things and gets the players to focus on them. I think he may bring his same old offense to the Giants and run plays the same old way. I think they will initially have success because he will have them all focused and prepared but I think he will start to show his tendencies again and after a while everyone will pick up on them and know what is coming. He is a great man and I wish him well.

Wouldn't you think that goes both ways? Garrett knows them too. Fwiw, I don't put much stock in any of that anyway. Coaches, players, etc move to other teams and I have really never seen it make a difference if they know a guys scheme or whatever. They figure out most of that just from watching game footage anyway and it often doesn't work for a different matchup.
Dallas has a new DC, abd the Dallas defensive players have seen Garrett's offense daily for years, add on to that other defenses and fans often knew what play Dallas was running.

That means nothing. It hasn't stopped the Eagles from having the success they have had. I've never had to worry about the Cowboys possibly winning a Super Bowl. That's all you want ultimately from your division rivals. No real post season success. And Jason Garrett provided that, he oozed that. Now he gets to bring his stink to the Giants. I'll take the trade off of the Giants getting some regular season wins over the Eagles, with that being their Super Bowl like it has been for the Cowboys for the past 13 years, if that means I get the comfort of knowing they will never be a threat to contend for a title with Jason Garrett running that offense.

NFL coaching is a chess game and Jason Garrett ain't a championship chess player

What did they do with that HFA? One and done.

I think he held Dallas back and Dallas could have been a big issue depending on their HC hire. Thankfully they hired Mike McCarthy who for years I have largely felt is a very overrated bad HC.

Does anyone know the difference between a HC and a OC?

Garrett called the plays for Dallas?
