Went to the game Sunday...it was my first time in Arrowhead.

Love what you guys have done with the place. I can check The Kingdom off my bucket list.

the chiefs worked hard as a team to lose that game yesterday. so many mistakes. not a sign of a good team.

i suppose i would still favor them to take the division only for the simple fact that they typically own their division opponents and they still have 4 games left against the afc west but i think the best they can hope for is holding off the raiders for a #4 seed at this point but it wouldn't surprise me if they miss the playoffs entirely.

So, just checked the Chiefs defensive DVOA: Pretty much back to where they were prior to the Vikes game. Solid kick in the pants for folks thinking maybe the defense was turning a corner against the run. The pass D is still ranking 5th (albeit a country mile behind the 49ers and Patriots at 1 and 2). The Run D went from 28th to 31st.

The team still projects extremely well, probably the top 3-4 best teams in the NFL going forward; mostly due to the offense. The defense, while I can't honestly say it's horrible, has obvious flaws and lacks a truly elite pass defense to assume even bad offenses are truly locked down. Run D isn't valuable, but when you're trying to win a SB, every penny counts.

The biggest issue with the team is not so much the roster as much as the W-L's in the record-book. Still easily better than the Raiders and what the Chargers have been up to this point. Not sure what the Broncos are with Lock, but they're pretty much irrelevant anyways even with the Chiefs stepping on their dicks.

Speaking of the Broncos: Their defense is still really dang good. They still blow, but any kind of QB play at all and they would be an annoying team again. Not convinced Lock is any good, just don't think the bar is hardly above the ground for the Broncos to be a nuisance in 2020.

My only thoughts on Lock are that he has the potential to be really good. If he went to a top 5 coach then I'd be worried as a Chiefs fan. He didn't so I'm not. I think he could have had a Jimmy Garoppolo type of career arc but now id be really skeptical that he'll do anything for the Broncos.

Mizzou's offense went way downhill without Lock, though. I'm just not sure that translates into anything at the pro level

It's really cool to follow a player in the draft like Thornhill and then see him get drafted by the Chiefs and have a badass game.

Kid looks legit.

Chiefs are beating their AFC West rivals by an average of 20 points this year.

Their point differential is pretty close to even against everyone else.

Chiefs road to the Super Bowl is likely going to be through the Bills and the Ravens as those teams are likely locked into the 5 seed and 1 seed. Thats not a bad pathway for a team that has been limping around for most of the season so they just need to start playing at a higher level on offense to gain back that advantage that they had last year.

Chiefs get the Patriots coming off a loss and their top ranked defense. 24 points probably wins that game. In the past, I'd be confident that the Chiefs get there but lately...eh. If the Chiefs win the game then a bye week is still in play as I think the Texans will lose at least one more game.

Chiefs might end up playing Drew Lock and Chase Daniel in back to back games. I never thought that could happen.

Realistically there isn't much of a difference between the Chiefs finishing 2-2 and 3-1 in this back stretch. If they get their 2 wins out of the way then you might see a lot of backups against the Chargers.

I know the Chiefs are getting a lot of lukewarm press about the win in New England but last week was a very good week for the Chiefs. They won and they have a lot of film on things they need to work on as they prepare for the playoffs.

The Broncos beat the Texans which really helped out the Chiefs. Now the Texans are in a fight for their playoff life with the Titans and if they split their two games then the Chiefs will likely stay ahead of both teams.

If the Chiefs manage to end their year at the #3 seed then they'll likely get Pittsburgh and New England in a very familiar sounding pathway to the Super Bowl. I'm personally under the assumption that Buffalo/Balt is a harder pathway but that just sounds weird to say.

To get a bye week the Chiefs need to win out and the Pats need to lose to the Bills. It could happen but I'd say there is a 90% chance the Chiefs are looking at the 3 or 4 seed.

all that is true but really the Bills don't scare me all that much, at least on the offensive side of the ball. Baltimore imo is a MUCH scarier threat...

the Patsies COULD still pull it together, but on offense they're just a shade above Buffalo and have obviously looked beatable on that side of the ball. guess we'll see soon enough. at any rate, we definitely have to beat the Bears and the Bolts if we want any shot at improving our playoff seeding(I know, Captain Obvious statement there)...

Houston had the Titans beat pretty easily but Watson had some real clock management issues and I think he threw a red zone interception. Texans seem like more of a spoiler than a real Super Bowl contender at the moment but if they clean things up then they are in the mix. They have some real pass defense issues, though, so I think they're pretty squarely in the 2nd tier.

Mahomes is still hurt. I think thats really what keeps KC from being a contender at the moment. In the playoffs, he'll need to run for 30-50 yds a game to keep teams honest.

I like Spencer Ware over Darwin Thompson right now. Thompson seems alright but he makes a lot of rookie mistakes. Ware at least adds a lot as a receiver. I think Shady has the starter spot locked down for the playoffs, though. Reid is probably just limiting his reps. Damien Williams is the most talent RB atm imo but I'm not sure how much of him we'll see for the rest of the year. I do think D Will is talented enough to be clearly above Thompson and Ware right now.

Chiefs run D looks stout up the middle and crazy bad on the edges. I think we can beat anyone in bad weather.

Looks like the Chiefs are getting the Texans. Hopefully KC learned something from getting their butts kicked earlier in the year.

Yeah. On paper it's extremely winnable, but, Watson and the Texans can go super saiyan in some games.

No excuse for losing to this team twice, imo.

So, I'll admit that I thought they were done once it was 21-0. After the Chiefs got their first score, though, there was a feeling that the Texans couldn't cover the Chiefs at all. You saw Bill O'Brien with a fake punt just to keep possession. He knew what was coming.

The Texans crew of Roby, Cunningham and L Johnson got torched. I think more surprisingly the Chiefs defense settled in. Overall they had a good game despite the point total.

Hopkins really bails out Watson and you saw a real accuracy difference between Watson and Mahomes in this game. Watson is still going to be one of Mahomes big rivals in his career but Mahomes is proving to be the top dog for the near future.

Now for Tennessee. Everyone always says that there is a formula to beat the Chiefs. Beating the Titans should quiet that talk.

I woke up early this morning because I had a nervous feeling about today's game. That has never happened to me before.

Going to the game this morning early for the tailgate. Last year I wasn't nervous just because I know the Patriots were not to be trifled with as paradoxical as it sounds. This year I think it's painfully obvious how winnable this game is on paper, Jones or not.

We've all waited a long time to come on the right side of these things in the playoffs. Hopefully that is indeed today.

I am more in the lukewarm camp. Sunday just needs to get here already. Gonna be weird trying to actually watch the game with a meaningful rooting interest with all the extra Americana mixed in.
