If you told KC at the start of the season they would host the Titans in the AFC Championship game, most would dance naked in the streets at the thought. It's been over 50 years since they've been in the big dance and Andy Reed's track record ain't so good in these games. Pressure will be huge tomorrow and will sit squarely on Andy.

Neither way....I'm pulling for the AFC in this years Super Bowl

Reid...mostly agree. He probably more than KC even needs this win.

I'm a Mahomes fan so I want to see him play well, and I'm originally from TN (left long before Bud Adams left HOU for greener pastures) but zero rooting interest.

So I really just want to see a good football game...not a blow out either way. But if I had to predict a winner, I think KC wins it, but not if they allow TN to keep Henry in the game into the 4th Qtr...must take a two possession lead into the 3rd/4Q to for the game into Tannehill's hands.

It's certainly on a silver platter to head to the SB.

This is undeniable. The only hiccup is Jones' health, but that's going to be no excuse against the Titans.

Having Chris Jones would really help slow down Henry. But yeah, no excuses. Chiefs should score plenty of points on the Titans D. Put up 32 when they lost earlier in the year, didn't they. And Mahomes threw for about 450. Should not let Tannehill beat them, imo.

Chris Jones really isn't an amazing run defender per se. He's more of a freak passrusher. With Saunders, Nnadi, and the addition of Pennell, I don't think the run D is losing much at all per se outside of maybe the splashy 5 yard loss which also maybe wasn't super gap sound, but :noidea:

Titans had a defensive TD, a blocked FG, and another muffed Chiefs FG.

There were quite a few weird things in that game.

I like the way the Titans are playing right now, controlling the clock, moving the sticks, playing good defense.... And NO WAY would I have thought the Titans would be in this position, they weren't playing anything like this earlier in the season... They're that team that got hot at the right time...

Agreed, it was just one of those games. My thought on Jones is because of his ability to penetrate quickly, it can cause a RB to have to stop or bounce things another way which isn't really Henry's strong suit. Seems to be more of a straight ahead, hit the gap hard runner so if you can slow him down before he gets rolling over LBs and DBs and he shouldn't be as dominant.

Most KC fans I know we're happy to get the bye week to avoid the Titans in the first round.

This is all on Andy. Another home fav in the title game. With or without Andy, the Chiefs have a QB that'll keep them in the hunt for years so this is why this game is big for Andy to prove he's not a choke.

Huge for Reid. I think it's on the team as well. This city has waited a long time, their at home and huge favorites.

It's on his team probably because of Reid. Who knows....any other coach that team could fly free to a Title...

The '90 NYGs come to mind w/ Jeff Hostelier in the Tannehill role and big Otis Anderson playing Henry's role.

The NYG were not WC, but Simms goes down, QB2 takes over and a similar style of play on OFC.

TN DEF is doesn't have premier edge guys...interior DL very good...LB play has been stellar lately...CBs are avg...KC is not going to try to pound it 30 times between the tackles and play into the LBs strengths...aside from some exotic blitz strategy, I'm not sure how TN will prevent Mahomes from putting up good numbers again. If Henry gets the carries I think he will go over 180 again as well.

I didn't expect Jackson to turn it over 3 times last week either, so as always, we'll let the game play out and see how it unfolds. The two contrasting styles make both of the games interesting to watch today.
