Burrow and Lawrence putting on a show as expected. The two best QBs in college football by far.

If not Burrow or Herbert - Lawrence would be a great choice at QB for the Fins. No QBs have been better than these two the last 2-3 seasons of CFB by far - and they are JUST scratching the surface. The best part about those two QBs... not injury prone and true QBs.

Hopefully the Dolphins brass is at THIS game if not watching from afar as it is THESE two guys that they need to be focused on.

Burrow will be a Bengal.

The Fins would have to go winless to get Lawrence. The team won 5 games this year. I doubt they have the record or draft capital to get him.

These QBs are great but the Fins will need to win without these guys.

Herbert could be had if they like him. The other two will be difficult to get.

Wrong. They would not have to go winless to get him. He would simply need to be there when it is their turn to pick.

Paolo, The Fins have 1 first round pick next year. That's not enough to trade up for Lawrence. I think the Fins will have more talent than they had last season.

Tua is a much more realistic option. Tua when healthy would be the best QB the Fins have had since Marino.

They have Houston’s first round pick in the 2021 draft as well I believe.

That's right. They also have an extra second rounder from them. It's still no definite that they can get Lawrence. Those picks can be used on other players if they pick Tua this year.

Good news for the Tua Trainwreck-bandwagon, Benjamin Albright from Pro Football Network is reporting the Dolphins are in on Tua and looking to move up to the second or third spot to take him.

Meaning - the Dolphins are willing to significantly reach and could be content with having a revolving door at QB - and risking being stuck in less than mediocrity for even longer.

On the brighter side, they are now doing more extensive work on Utah State QB, Jordan Love - a guy with talent and that would fit their scheme better.

I won't have a meltdown if it happens. I will just sit back and watch as the organization spends another lifetime looking for their franchise QB. Of course, the hope is they don't make the mistake of drafting such overrated damaged goods. And, if they do -- that they have an immediate backup plan when they realize the mistake they've made.

I think there are three ways to look at Tua.
Paolo, you're in the too much of a risk group so stay away group. I can understand your concern.

The other extreme is trade up for him at all costs. Some would even trade multiple picks for a fragile QB. I am not in that group. The most I would trade is a second round pick to move up to 3 or 4. Even if you only get 3 to 5 yrs with him as QB there is a good chance the Fins would win the AFC East if he is healthy.

The other group would only take him at 5 if the medical reports check out.

The Fins have been able to get a close look at both QBs Herbert and Love at Senior Bowl practice. Also, they will play next weekend.

If the Fins don't like any of those options I am fine with Fitzpatrick and Rosen in 2020 then drafting a QB next year.

Have an enjoyable MLK day all.

I am 100% in the 3rd option. Take him at 5 if medical checks out. Do not trade picks in any scenario. Ideally, I would rather Miami squirrel away picks and unload the farm for Lawrence in 2021. However, I can't see Miami drafting this high again next year and it would take a ton to get up to 1 for that pick.

You are partially correct. For me, there is too much risk involved. And there is very little proof that the risk is worth it. I know a lot on the Tua Trainwreck think I am hating on him because I have differing views to them on him - but here are my real thoughts on the matter: As you said, there is too much risk involved - my thing is, for a team that is rebuilding -- who is still trying to find it's identity as an organization, the many unknowns with this kid are just not worth it when you are a franchise trying to get back on track.

When you look at the combination of talent in this draft, team needs and current state of the organization - there are simply better options that they could go with. If we were talking about this kid in the mid-to-late rounds, I would say take the risk - but not in the first round - not for a rebuilding organization.

The Fins CAN and SHOULD go in a different direction. To do anything to the contrary would be even bigger steps back for the organization for years to come.

As for trading up for him, IMO - that would be just as risky and dumb as selecting him in the first round with any of our picks. I can bet no QB-needy team behind the Dolphins picks will be calling them about trading up trying to get him.

The hope is, some team before the Fins takes him if no other teams trade up with one of those teams to take him -- otherwise, hope the Dolphins do the smart thing and pass up on him.

We will get an even clearer picture of the talent level in this draft in next month's combine - hopefully, the Dolphins realize the talent available to fill their needs appropriately.

In other news, best of luck to Chad O'Shea who has been hired as WR coach by the Browns - an even bigger downfall than being on the Dolphins staff this past season.

Tua won't be throwing at the combine - will instead have a throwing session prior to the draft for teams. Very telling he doesn't want to throw at the combine - let's see how many other events he will skip out on at the combine to hide his obvious flaws and limitations. And hid the fact that he is not as healthy as some want to make it seem with him.

Top QBs never throw at the combine. They all choose to throw at their school pro days with receivers they know and have worked with. Nice try at that narrative though.

I wasn't attempting at " pushing a narrative" It is what is being reported by several people on ESPN, NFLN, among other NFL media sources.

And -- your claim that "Top QBs never throw at the combine" is inaccurate. It is more accurate to say that MANY of the top guys choose not to throw, but to say that they " never" do is just blatantly false.

I commend you for wanting to defend your guy at all cost - but facts still matter -- and I was just pointing out some verified information.

More on Tua - the Lions emerging as a potential landing spot and fit, as the Lions are unsure of the health of Matthew Stafford.

I think they are trying to create a trade market. If I'm the Fins stay put and BPA at 5. Stay the course there and at 18 you can move around if necessary at a cheaper price.

What do you guys think about the other QBs like Love? Willing to take a shot with any and if so where in the draft?

CBS Sports wrote an article about Love and Herbert at Senior Bowl practice. Both guys have made some good throws but Love has
a slight edge so far with his overall game. I am looking forward to watching them play.

Neither of these guys are as much of an injury risk as Tua. I think the Fins can get any of these guys except Burrow with as much draft capital that they have. I am not sure what draft value they place on these guys.
