There’s nothing nice I can say about that,’’ said Atlanta Braves third base coach Ron Washington. “When you can’t say nothing nice, you don’t say anything.’’
Houston is the most talented team in baseball,’’ Washington said. “And to take it to that extent I’m surprised because they don’t have to do that to whoop your (expletive). They stained their community, stained their organization, they didn’t need to do that because they can beat anybody on their own.

“Now, if a pitcher is tipping a pitch by the way he goes into his glove, you’re damn right I’m going to jump on that. If a pitcher and catcher just puts down one sign, damn right I’m going to jump on that. But to do it electronically, that’s not right.’’
Still, folks are suspicious he knew exactly what pitch Chapman was throwing to him, even if his slider didn’t break as sharply as usual.

“The only thing that popped into my mind is how did he hit that?" Washington said. "Chapman throws 100 mph. He throws a slider down and in. And he hit the hell out of it. Chapman couldn’t believe it."

I hate it when players and coaches screw up a really good game in baseball. I hated it when all the HRs were being jacked because of steroids and people were just flying by 61 HRs after all those years that no one could. I mean we had 2 go over that mark in 1998, 1999 and 2001. I totally discount those HR marks and that statistic is very seldom talked about because everyone knows it was done illegally.

I’m just glad the rangers aren’t involved.

Although, we did trade for beltran briefly. He didn’t help us tho.

unfortunately we could get hit if it turns out Chirinos was involved. I expect that we will eventually see suspensions and fines levied against players from the Astros and Red Sox which could include Dhirinos

The moment that it’s confirmed with either insider testimony or irrefutable physical evidence that the Astros also wore electronic signaling devices under their jerseys (which they CLEARLY did), Yu Darvish should sue the ever-living daylights out of the Astros organization, their entire coaching staff from 2017, and every last hitter he faced in both of his outings in that World Series.

I would LOVE to see Jose Altuve’s life and legacy completely ruined. He has been the most phony “good guy” in the game for quite some time. He has all the earmaks of a steroid user (sudden inexplicable and insane boost in HR totals followed by seasons of spells on the DL). Plus he already lied once about the team not stealing signs, and now he’s also lied about why he didn’t want his teammates to rip off his jersey on the walk-off. I mean... honestly. Does ANYONE believe his story that he told them not to rip off his jersey because it would upset his wife?!?!?! You just hit a walk-off HR off baseball’s most dominant closer in the biggest moment of your entire career, the crowd is going bonkers, your teammates are all waiting to mob you in celebration at home plate, and you’re more concerned about what your wife will say later that night?!?! Yeah, ok. Sure.

Furthermore, if MLB wanted to make sure that no team EVER cheated like this again, they would levy penalties so shocking and over-the-top, it would truly stop the cheating in its tracks. And by that, I mean they would PERMANENTLY ban Jim Crane, Jeff Luhnow, the entire coaching staff, and every player from the 2017 Astros team (except for the lone exception of the whistleblower Mike Fiers, in order to encourage future snitching) from Major League Baseball. They would then force the sale of the team, like the NBA did with the Clippers, and they would relocate the Astros to another city.

Is that excessive? Of course it is. Will it ever happen? No, of course not. But I guarantee it would work. It would stop cheating dead in its tracks. It would force all owners, GM’s, and coaches to be 100% aware of everything going on within their organizations, and it would threaten every player’s livelihood and scare them away from ever taking part in any kind of cheating that was even mentioned as a possibility. And for the few rogue players who did decide they wouldn’t have a career without cheating anyway and decided to go ahead and risk it, there would be immunity put in place (like with Fiers) for any player or coach who reported it. I am NOT a fan of snitches at ALL. But in this case, where egregious altering of the game took place I think it’s warranted. You don’t snitch on your neighbor if you know he’s got an illegal cable hook-up. You do snitch on him if you know he murdered his entire family and buried them in his back yard.

I think the Astros thing is done, i don't think they'll pursue player suspensions this time

I think they're just calling it lack of institutional control by suspending the coach and GM, and hopefully that prevents teams from cheating... the social stigma is probably the biggest punishment they've recieved... hopefully that's all enough to prevent future incidents and a promise from MLB that any future incidents will be WillTheThrill level Apocalypse for that franchise and players

You bet!! And I’d be first in line to dance on their graves. That scumbag Altuve is STILL denying he ever did anything wrong. He was interviewed today, and he pulled a Palmeiro/Braun and not only lied but went on the offensive. Then he proclaimed the Astros are going to the World Series again this year. Nobody should be surprised, either. Every member of that organization has shown zero contrition since Day 1 but rather nothing but unbridled arrogance. And their fans fall right in line. At least Bregman took a somewhat more subdued tone and just said “no comment” instead of digging his hole any further.

Read there may have been some immunity to players for testimony re recent cheating thus why players have been let off the hook.
Still need some bite/penalties to players who participate IMO.
And yes Yu still wants answers whether he was tipping pitches or if signs were stolen

Think the players were granted immunity so they could get honest statements.

Yep and Bregman vehemently denies buzzers but deflects the part that ultimately is about the trash cans

A lawsuit would bring some answers.
