I think everyone is getting ahead of themselves regarding Haskins. Give the guy a FULL year will you please and thanks. Pump the F'n brakes on drafting another QB until after we actually see what DH can become.

I get it that Burrow is the new shiny dude on the market. People are gaga over his 60 TD's, 6 int's and over 5,000 yard season and rightfully so, but let us not forget that our current guy passed for 50 TD's, 6int's and over 5,000 yards in his final season at Ohio State.
I wonder... should Burrow stumble early on in Cincinnati or elsewhere, if those calling for his selection at #2 (if he's there) publicity state, "whew glad we didn't get him!" or something similar. The betting odds say that they would take a more cautious approach instead, and, give Burrow a real opportunity to prove himself as it appears they aren't willing to do for Haskins.

and yes, I would take and keep Burrow, and so would Kyle (who had a 2nd round grade on Haskins) and anyone else who watched college football this year.

Now that doesn't mean Burrow wont bust at the NFL level, but based on current information, you'd almost have to unless you already have an elite QB and in that case you won't be picking in the top half of the draft anyway.

Burrow won’t bust unless he gets hurt.

He has everything. He is accurate, he can make every throw, he is mobile and most importantly he can read a defense.

His floor is something like Kirk Cousins and his ceiling is a more mobile Drew Brees.

Unless Burrows gets caught up in a r*pe case along with taking 10 million in under the table money I don't see how the Bengals pass on him but if they did whoever doesn't draft him there after is crazy
Well, he WAS with Trump at the white house this week...

To obtain Burrow we would have to do a trade with Cincy. Perhaps package off Haskins and next years 1st rounder plus a 2nd or third this year or next. This would be asinine. You take Chase and start moving forward. Both Chase and Burrow are projected to be studs,,, why set yourself back by giving up draft picks. If they were to do this then we would all know that Snyder still makes that decision with every 1st round pick,,, and he always will... and he will always do the wrong thing... and we will always suck. Haskins deserves his shot. I saw progress from start one to the final game. Dude has a ways to go and needs help on the front line. Those picks we will save by not stupidly giving them away to Bengals for another QB can be used to better this team. If Tom Brady was on this team last year we may win another game or two,,,, that is if he even survived the constant knock downs and sacks... and guess what,,, we'd still miss the playoffs.

Draft Young and better your team. Case closed.

Cinci takes Burrow, Redskins take Young.

Cinci takes Young, Redskins trade out of the pick for a shitload of draft picks, then fix a number of holes.

Win-Win.

No.

Cincy is taking Burrow, so it is moot.

But Haskins is not a reason to pass on Joe Burrow if he were somehow available.

The Redskins haven’t had a franchise QB in a really long time.

Yes.
Haskins may be a franchise qb, and the redskins have other needs.
Pass on Burrow and trade down if he’s there at 2.

Tannenhill’s in the AFC Championship, for crissakes, as is Garoppolo. Neither are “franchise qb’s,” whatever that actually means.

Burrow is so much better.

Like I said, it is moot. Burrow is going 1.

But when you have a top pick like this and a potential superstar is available, you take him. Simple as that.

Burrow, IMO is the closest thing to a cant miss QB to enter the draft since Andrew Luck. Dude is going to be very good.

I have spoken my piece in Haskins. Time will tell there. But the “he might be a franchise QB” isn’t enough to pass on a guy who will be one. Because Haskins would have a lot more trade value than Rosen did last year.

But, like I said, it is all moot because he won’t be available.

You can win with game manager QBs like Tannehill, but it requires a lot of luck for all the other pieces to fall into place.

So the implication in your last line is this is a team game and any old QB can win?

while on the other hand:

Hey, how’d KC do today?

Must be everybody else’s fault but his - cant run, cant catch, niners defense is the greatest since sliced bread, etc.

I guess if your team can play defense and run the ball and your name is not Cousins …. :noidea::rolleyes2:

Where did I backpedal? I stated they gave into the PC culture and believing every woman.

What does TW have to do with how the 9ers treated Foster?

Who is Gilead? How do I have an allegiance to ISIS? Are you drunk or just stupid?

Foster wasn’t in trouble with the law. There was never any proof of wrongdoing on the domestic issue. Where is my trouble with equality? I think you are lost.

I’m sorry you’re so butt hurt over my KC comments. It’s been two weeks since KC choked away the Vikes game, proving once again that he isnt worth the contract given to him, yet you still feel the need to defend him on a different thread.

Why you chose this thread in particular - about the relative potential of a current collegiate qb and an unproven rookie - is unclear.

Both Haskins and Burrow are unproven in the NFL, Burrow especially.

Both, one of them, or neither could prove to be “franchise qbs.”

The Redskins have other needs besides drafting two first round qb’s in two first rounds in a row, especially since they dont have a second rounder this year.

What does referencing how KC played two weeks ago have to do with what the redskins should do with their second pick in the draft, assuming Burrow is there?

Oh, that’s right! Nothing.

Not butt hurt at all chill, I sort of get a kick out of your posts.

You might want to work on that reading comprehension thing since I pointed to your comment about Garapolo and Tannehill and the double standard you showed.

All good, I support your right to be ummmmm confused. :pound:

They have one, give him time. Like more than 7 games.
