Finished it tonight. Mostly enjoyed the first two seasons, but I am not as jazzed about it as I was after the season one.

Beck is hotter than Love, but the Love storyline, I thought, was more entertaining.

Meh. He always wants what he can’t have. Even if he doesn’t realize that’s what he desires or that he can’t have it. Once Love declared who she really was, his initial response was to kill her. Sure, he gave in and joined her, but the chase was gone and she was no longer perfection.

more accurately, she was not who he thought she was... he wants someone to love him for who he is, but he also wants the woman he is chasing, not one that has her own dark secrets, that he couldn't even see... But you are right, he does romanticize about the chase

And btw... I loved how the producers showed that they knew what they were doing when they had one character (Ellie??) compare Joe to Dexter.

Joe is not as self aware as Dexter (Dexter knew he was evil at his core, thus his religious adherence to his rules while Joe continuously judges others for their craziness’, such as the entire episode in Peaches house). But the SHOW is at least self aware enough as to realize it is essentially a remake of Dexter.

honestly, I don't see it at all... Both are serial killers, and both shows are all about their chase... But I wouldn't call You and dexter a carbon copy... I think You has its own identity totally separate from dexter…

to go even further, I don't think Joe goes for the kill... He is a stalker first... I think he tries not to kill, but finds no other way but to kill... Dexter hunts, not stalks...

although, they both have a hero complex...

I agree they aren’t carbon copies. Like I said, Dexter is highly intelligent and very self aware. Sure, he believes he is somewhat possessed (I believe the books actually hint at an alien presence, iirc), but he acknowledges that there is SOMETHING off about himself. Joe believes he is completely normal. He doesn’t even realize he is a stalker. He isn’t a murderer, either, even though he has at least 7 kills under his belt (likely more) and feels the need to build a kill room, just in case.

Joe is completely delusional while Dexter knows exactly what is going on.

Watched about 5 episodes of season one. Definitely has a Dexter vibe. Not really an incel though-by about episode 3 she's putting out all the time. The first few episodes it almost seems like they made him too likeable, although I guess it is all coming from his point of view so...
One thing that annoys me a little is how unrealistic the stalking parts of it are. In one episode he's in a house with 3 other people following them around room to room, spying on everything they do and no one notices it. Is he supposed to be invisible?

Speaking from experience eh? :D

Watched the first ep of S3 this weekend. It has been so long since S2 ended, though, that I felt a little lost.

Just finished Season three... I really enjoy the the psychological exploration of this show...

But wish they ended the series here... this was a perfect ending IMO... season 4 looks too much like season 1 to me...

Neither do I. I mean I get the comparisons because they're both serial killers of a sort, but that's were it ends imo. Great show, btw. I think it's better than Dexter, which I liked for the most part. But he's a much more complex and interesting character than Dexter. I have 2 episodes left of season 3 which has been its best so far.

Season 4 is out and I'm really digging so far through 3 episodes. He's hiding out in England as a literature teacher at a college. There seems to be more going on.. more relationships & potential angles, than during the first 3 seasons.

I already watched all of season 4 part 1... its entertaining... but It still should have ended after season 3... the plot for season 4 is very forced... again, its good... but the plot could have happened to anyone, not just Joe...
