Cold day in hell before I root for a team from Baltimore in any sport.

Welp, the national championship game is about to start and I know that there are a few here who are truly anxious about giving it to ole' Sty for earlier posts about which team will own the title. I hope that it's a great game. It is interesting that the most prolific team over the last 3-4 years is the underdog. Go Tigers!!! ( yes I know ):D

I picked the Tigers but I like both teams. Penn State or Navy isn't in it so I don't have a rooting interest. Not sure who you think is going to pick on you. :noidea:

It is one hell of a game. LSU started out shaking but made some adjustments. Joe Burrow might throw one of the best deep balls I have ever seen.

Randy Moss must be so excited … you got Moss'd for the 2nd time.

If Burrow throws one more TD pass he will be the first ever to throw 60 TD passes.

Oh, so now you're playing Stevie Wonder!
There have been plenty who have thrown better deep passes. Hell, in this class Tua throws a better deep ball. C'mon man!!

Sty if I say blue you are going to say green.

Name the last QB to throw for over 900 yards and 12 TD pass in the college playoffs. BTW #1 dropped a TD pass dead in his hands.

Go ahead Jose Feliciano, enlighten me. :pound::pound::pound:

No one ever brought this up! Again you want to create a debate based upon something off topic.
The point that YOU made was about who throws a better deep ball. When challenged you went with this??? Perhaps from here out you should post something, then respond to that post and just have a good old time, talking off subject with the one person who's able to follow that nonsense.

Lawrence off tonight

Yes, in my mind he is the best QB in college football but not tonight. I think Ole Dabo got outcoached by the Alligator man. Looked the other way in the 1st quarter but since 17-7 it has been no contest.

I am on point Sty, all I can do is buy you a beginners book on football.

Here is the thing Sty, you made several points that have been blown up tonight The winner of the OSU vs. Clemson game was going to be the National Champion.

You have started that several times that Haskins is better than Burrow because he beat him out. After they have each played one year as a starter it doesn't seem like that. Please note I did not say one is great and one sucks but it is hard to say Haskins played better after Burrow's year.

Then you wanted to challenge my post that letting the Shanahan's or any of those coaches go was a mistake and shows that the FO of Bruce and Dan were clueless.

Then you wanted to tell me because I said Burrow might throw the greatest deep ball ever. Could I have been wrong, sure. Were you a smart ass about it, yes. Did you expect me to not fight back. Maybe you even think somewhere down the line I am going to bow down and say Sty, you know so much about football. Don't wait for that. You came and challenged my comments, not the other way around.

Anyhow! Congrats to LSU on a great season They truly beat a great team. That was Lawrence's first loss in college.

Perhaps you should read it several thousand times before trying to gift it.

I knew that you would point to the final outcome in this one, that is why I posted what I did before the game. I'll give you that one point.

In as much as the others you couldn't be further off point if you tried.

Haskins in a head to head battle for the starting job won outright, that is a fact!
So, now you want to compare one as an NFL starter and the other waiting to become one, C'mon man!

I was all for keeping Kyle, it's on the search record. I have never been a fan of Mike's and he should have been dismissed if for no other reason, not defending what he knew to be true. If they fired him so be it, nobody would have blamed him for standing up against Bruce Fuckin Allen. Mike was the subject, not his branches. So much for that being a "blown up" point.

Let's set the record straight, you said that he threw the best deep ball that you've ever seen. I countered with the Stevie Wonder/Tua remark, remember? No one expects you to bow down to anyone, nor fight back when it's called for, but dude you change the subject so often that picking a fight with you is like taking an unfair advantage.

Please don't try that weak assed Trump stuff with me. It's YOU who jumps at every post that I make, not the other way around. I've mentioned this before in another thread.

No politics Sty but nice kick sa …. oops it went in. I don't talk about politics and on the board and would appreciate if you don't either. Save those remarks for someone that likes to talk about them.

How about those 5 deep balls by Burrow. Sweet!!! Dropped them right in there. I am not stumping to draft him. Either Cincy wants him which is what I believe or they trade for a huge haul for him.

Oh your Stevie remark might in part have been in fun. You were also taking a shot. Was a nice game by Burrow huh?

My suggestion, relax … have a cold one.

I agree. He dropped a couple of deep ones right on the money where only his receivers could catch it. One was dropped that was absolutely perfect. In the last 2 games, against the best in college football, he has like12 TD passes 900 yds, a completion % in the 70s, and no INTs. He is one of the best I have seen coming out of college in a long time.

Sty, you seem to put a lot of stock in the fact that Haskins beat out Burrow 2 years ago for the starting OSU job. Its fair to assume that, for that offense, Haskins was the better player at the time. Do you still feel that way? Who do you think has the more complete skill set and the higher upside as a Pro?

Burrow, in my mind is head and tails above Haskins as he enters the pro game. He has better touch, he has better accuracy, he is more mobile, and he is able to diagnose defenses pre snap the Haskins still can't do after a year in the pros. I would take Burrow every time over Haskins if they were both entering the draft together.

Direct answers to goid questions:

1. The comparison is all that we have in real time., No I don't think that it applies and all comparisons end there as Haskins is entering a second season as a pro and Burrow hasn't been drafted yet.

I'm going to repeat this again... where a player goes is as important as almost anything else. Burrow in Cindy and Haskins in D.C. are both perilous to their careers.

2. I won't argue how you see things but I'll simply remind that Burrow is the new shiny penny. It happens every year and then the realities of the NFL game tests the value of the new coin. Burrow does look ready good, but I haven't forgotten that if not for injury, Tua may have been touted as the number one pick.

I agree with almost all of this. The only thing I might question is if an uninjured Tua would still be the odds on #1 pick over Burrow with the year he put up (especially in the last 2 games against the supposed best he could play). I believe that Burrow's game is more suited, at this point, for the pros than Tua.
