What did you expect? You always surround yourself with those that you know and trust. You would do the same thing.

He hired Jack Del Rio which is a huge hire. Also Ken Zampese. Reports are he would have hired KOC but wanted to bring in his own offensive assistants. Most people when they get in higher positions hire people who they are familiar with and no their body of work. Who didn't he hire that you think he should have?

I've been kinda feeling that way too coach, but it does speak to a bigger picture that Rivera, not Dan, AS OF NOW is in charge. Not sure how long that will last. As long as we don't lose Kyle I'm good.

I agree, it is lame as hell. I get it that he's hiring guys that he's comfortable with, but isn't the goal to hire the very best for the job?

That said, the NFL, is a sort of fractured fraternity, and guys that are hired usually are familiar members of the fractured parts.

Carolina wasn't exactly a winner with these coaches, as a matter of fact, Rivera was fired after our dismal team beat his. What does that say about his former staff?

He's comfortable with them and not necessarily so with others who may be better for the job.

RR has been coach of the year 2x . he has led a team to a superbowl and is one of the few people to ever post a 15-1 record .

sometimes the best at a position isnt available

and i am sure not going to have a hissy fit about losing an OC from a 3-13 football team . and mind you a guy who has a chance to be a HC someday and we could lose anyway

the panthers have performed better over the years then we have so perhaps we should look at that

now you all bitched about snyders "meddling " and now we are bitching about the people our HC is bringing in ?

come on , let the guy build his staff as he sees fit and expect a few panthers players to show up as well

I don't think anyone is bitching except for coach. Merely pointing out that RR is bring over coaches from his previous job that failed and lead to his firing, that's all. I could care less who he brings in, just win baby!!!

Who did you want him to keep from a 3-13 team? You folks wanted change, this is what change is. So I ask again - Who didn't he hire that you think he should have?.

Why could you not hire the GM and wait until after the draft to shake up the scouts ? It happens every year after the draft anyway.
Y’all got a helluva coach if you get a solid GM and Danny stays out of the way .....
let’s just say the NFCEast won’t be the whipping boys of the NFL again for awhile in the playoffs and should be respectable really quick but the NY team could be in the basement for a good while

As long as Kyle gets to run the draft I'm good.

It's a bit deeper than these necessary changes. Trust and comfort are always tested with change. I'll address this in a new thread coming soon.

This sort of reminds me of when Dan hired Marty. He gave him all the control as Marty insisted then took it all back a year later.
